Bump means that they are trying to "bump" the thread back to the top of the list. The reason why the person was yelled at is that this is a very active thread and the bump was only a few hours after the last post. Bumping is pretty frowned upon in general, but doing it on a post that is posted on daily will get you lambasted.

Let me add that it's the sole inclusion of the word "bump" that elicits the negative response.
When other interested followers of the thread see there's a new post in a thread they're following, they go there only to find nothing more than the word "bump"...and a bigass waste of their time.
You want the Chris Evans thread back at the top of the forum? Then SAY something about Evans (or whomever the thread is about). Comment on a previous post. Post a new photo or video for us to oogle at. ...But please don't waste our time with this "bump" crap. Especially, as Khegan said, in a thread that's active and doesn't need a bump.
