It's from a day last September, when Chris visited me last fall at my colonial farm and lumber mill in Vermont. We had a great day. The weather was great in the morning, and we spent most of the day hauling and splitting lumber. In the late afternoon a storm rolled in, and we had to head back to the mill to get the fresh boards undercover. While we were there, I figured I'd show Chris my collection of antique pulleys and balusters. This picture was captured when we were laying on the floor having a chat about how great it is to be from New England and I mentioned to him that those balusters weren't the only wood I wanted to show him.
