Circumcision status of your friends

Reconstruction might mean restoration, and there are nonsurgical ways to stretch the skin. I’ve never tried it but it seems like many guys who do it are happy with their results, although it does take a very long time (usually multiple years).
Sounds like you've done some research. Ever thought about trying it yourself?

I thought about it when I was you get because I was curious to know what having a foreskin would’ve been like (I was cut at birth). But I’ve never really had a problem with being cut, and nowadays I don’t have the time or patience to restore for several years.

Serbian-American, grew up in Midwest uncut (got cut later), almost all white, black guys are cut. Latinos/Asians are mixed. I think most Serbian Americans are uncut but many are cut too. In Serbia it's pretty rare but not totally unheard off either, it's done sometimes like tonsillectomy.

Most of the guys I know are uncut, just like myself.

In fact, I could count on one hand the number of cut guys I know, since it’s extremely rare in my environment and only done for medical reasons.
As for how I know this, it’s simply from asking or talking openly about it. Honestly, in my circle, nothing is really considered taboo.

What I’d like to ask is: Based on what you see around you, do you notice that more and more guys are uncircumcised these days?

I am guessing in that most of my friends are uncut, given that it is not that common in England. I was circumcised as an adult and have told a few close friends, all are uncut themselves. Back at school, which was a private school, the figure was higher. I got to see a higher number in the changing rooms and I would say 25% or so were cut.

That's funny. The only other uncut guy besides my brother and I at our swim club was a Polish kid who barely spoke any English. He was getting ragged on too and had no idea what they were saying.
So ridiculous how much Americans even care about this.

Hope it’s okay to dive deeper - but for those whose friends are circumcised:

Have you ever talked about how they actually feel about it? Like, do they wish they had more choice, or are they content?

And what about future families - same path as their parents, or reconsidering? Anyone had these deeper conversations?

Well my muslim friends feel blessed and proud. Of course they do the same on their sons 💪💯

I haven’t talked with any of my guy friends about it in any depth. What to do as parents has come up a couple times in conversations with female friends, and among them it seems like there’s a hesitancy to circumcise.

Never really talked about, in the U.S., a circumcised penis is a regular, normal penis.

Yes, I've definitely had a few of these conversations. I've got quite a few mates who would prefer not to have been cut. Some were just "well, nothing I can do about it, but I'd prefer to have been given the choice" through to at least 2 mates who feel completely violated by it including one that uses the 'm' word to describe his, despite it being a pretty nice looking member.

All of them have either had sons and left them uncut, or have said they definitely wouldn't have their potential future sons cut.

It's a funny situation here in Australia. Guys my age were roughly 50/50, but for my sons ages it's something like >90% uncut these days. So there are a lot of cut dads around that are keeping their sons uncut. For interest, I'm only aware of two mates who were cut and also had thier sons cut.

I've been surprised by how readily guys my age will discuss it, once someone actually raises the subject.
