Brandtboys I think is such a good example of this. Jordan, Troy, Kyle and Alek were all so hot when they started (jordan and kyle still are). All four of them looked masculine and muscular typical gay4pay look. Jordan and Kyle had/have that hot older man daddy look, while troy and alek had the college jock look.
But only Jordan and troy got extremely popular and its because they're the straight guys in the group. If Kyle and Alek lied and said they're straight instead of gay they would have been way more popular.
The reason I think this is because jordan and kyle have undeniable chemistry yet people still want to see troy and jordan together.
