I have a few bi friends who when talking to new people or those they’re not close with, they refer to themselves as straight because they’re currently in a heterosexual presenting relationship and, while are attracted to the same sex, they have not had a long term relationship with them. They’ve said it just makes it easier to explain and the people close to them know who they are.
