Not sure why it be any more unhealthy to go commando than all crunched up in those little dinky pouchs uncomfortable. There are some males that have not been in more than a boxer since getting out of the diapers. Wearing a loose boxer is almost like being officially commando. It feels exactly the same to me. My boxers are made from thin, lightweight fabric, and it's awesome to feel your goods hang loose instead of being confined.
