Conan gray

The video is fun, I think it's really good especially for someone who I don't think has ever really done actual choreography before. The hottest video I think we've gotten from him, I'd love to see him go more in this direction
Huh, this is the first time I've heard any of his music. I'm a big fan of this song - has an 80s feel for sure.

The real question, however, is when the hell is Conan O' Brien going to have Conan Gray on his podcast? The former Conan has joked multiple times about the latter Conan being the more popular Conan, indeed possibly the most popular Conan in the world. The public needs to see (or listen to) the Conans finally face off.

Since I recently discovered I actually like some of Conan's music, I've been watching some interviews with him from over the past few years. He seems like an extremely sweet, genuine person, and I don't really believe that he's faking all that for branding purposes, as some earlier posts in this thread implied.

He certainly comes across as desperate for love and romance, but also uncomfortable with that kind of attention - this discomfort may be very intense, and may have prevented him from having relationships in the past. No matter how pretty or famous he is, I find it entirely plausible that some mental health issues and anxieties make it difficult for him to be intimate with people. Or, as he seems to be saying, he just falls for the wrong people. He may be carrying some serious heartbreak and rejection scars, if his lyrics are to be taken at face value.

Now, was he exaggerating by claiming "Never Been Kissed (1999)" status a few years ago? We can't know, but it's not impossible. Since then, I have a feeling he's experienced plenty of kissing and more, but that doesn't mean that he's being dishonest about all the themes he continuously returns to in his music and interviews. In fact, the way he repeats those all the time makes me think he's being honest about legitimate emotional baggage.

Final thing I'll say is, there's so much evidence and so many hints pointing to him being queer that I could make a whole post listing all of it (I mean, one of his most famous songs, Heather, is definitely about him being in love with straight guy. That's obvious, right?). But he really doesn't need to "come out" if he doesn't feel like it. It can be a pain to do that as some kind of public announcement. I hope that some day he just casually drops that he has a boyfriend and we can all be happy for him.

In the meantime, here's hoping for more sexy clothing (or lack thereof) and 80s nostalgia.

So! I'm someone who has been watching him since his youtube days and I've never really felt Conan has needed to really "come out", because he's never felt "in the closet" to me. I mean this is the boy who said back when he was like 16-17 that My Private Idaho was one of his favorite movies - definitely not a movie straight boys tend to pick out of a bunch. And I believe when he got to college he talked about writing a final paper (before he dropped out) that was about communication in the gay community (it's been a while since I've seen the video but I'm pretty sure it was specifically the gay community and not the LGBT community, not completely sure though) which, again, is not something someone who is not a part of that community would really do.

I think it's pretty likely that back in his high school days he wasn't kissing anybody, he said he didn't have much of a social life because he was making videos all the time. Do I think it's still possible? No. Do I think he's probably dated people? Yes. But I doubt any of it's been serious (which is a pretty common problem for gay men in general). He also says he doesn't like labels, and I feel like he means that more genuinely than some other celebs who just don't want to say they're straight and lose their gay (or straight woman) audience, whether he likes men, men and women, or whatever.

But he's a lot more private than he used to be, twitter chased him off pretty thoroughly back in 2020. And even during his youtube days he talked a lot about how he struggled to vlog because when he was busy he just forgot about it, and liked to experience a lot of important things for himself, unlike a lot of other influencer types, which is extremely respectable tbh. There were also a lot of fans who used to be pretty obsessive about his relationship with Manu Rios (honestly surprised nobody here has ever talked about that rabbit hole before), so I can see why he's become a lot more private than he used to be. I would definitely recommend watching his Zach Sang interviews if you haven't, because first they're funny as hell, and second they seem to step away from his more public persona. The recent one he talks about being in a "situationship" with someone for a while, and makes a comment about how he's not even writing about the guy he wrote Heather about anymore, but other people (but he's still probably not over that person).

Anyway, this was way longer than it needed to be, but that's just how I feel as a young gay man who has been a fan of Conan since I was like 13 :sob:

And Now, I'm hoping to see more of his sexy rockstar era.

I’ve been following him for a while I don’t remember anything about him and Manu Rios so I definitely want the spilled tea on that ha ha

Mostly that they're just extremely close friends (if you search Conan Gray and Manu Rios on Google you'll see a bunch of their tweets and messages on instagram together) I think it's probably really obvious from them that at least Conan had a crush on him idk about Manu. They've been friends since they were about 15-16 years old. They talk about it here in this interview!

Also some pictures of them

Huh, I had no idea these two knew each other, and even are legitimately friends! That's awesome, and certainly leads to some interesting fantasies. I wonder if they've ever been attracted to one another, even if nothing physical's ever happened. But I wonder that with all gay friendships lol.

Regarding your earlier post, I also did not know Conan referred to an LGBT-related college assignment back in the day. Add that to the gigantic list of massive hints that he's queer. Now I totally get your take that he never really needed to come out as anything, since anyone following him from the beginning has always known he's not solely into the ladies.

I did watch his most recent interview with Zach Sang after Superache came out, and it was pretty fascinating, I was surprised by how personal he got about his family and emotional baggage. I guess I'll check out the older ones, too, even though he may have a different perspective since then given how young he was (and still is).

Beyond finding them hot, I do like learning about celebs like this when they're actually interesting people. But yeah, I absolutely find Conan hot af.

I always assumed the song Online Love from his first album was about Manu

(I have no evidence for this, it just kinda fits in my head)
