I completely understand why you would be confused by this. To be honest, it sounds like it's his issue rather than anything you've done. Perhaps something has caused him to question who he is/what he's attracted to and he needs to take a step back to figure some stuff out? Honestly I don't think there's any way to know unless you ask, or if he's ready to tell you.

If you think he would be receptive, perhaps message him and just be honest. Tell him that you hear what he's saying but you're very confused by his change in behaviour and don't understand where it's come from, especially if neither of your behaviours have changed. That said, it's also important to respect that he's asked for space, if he isn't willing to engage, I wouldn't push it. I'd make it clear that you care about him and you're there if he needs to talk and then leave it be. It sucks, but you'll only push him further away if he feels like he's being pushed too hard.

So i messaged a snap last thursday after training saying i dont want the awkward shit at training where cant even say hello, and im confused about whats happened. He replied not vibing. I sent a snap that i will get to bottom of this, detective w**** on case and had stickers to look like a detective. He replied ive never seen u smoke. And a few messages back and forth. On sat morning i messaged on messenger wishing him luck and predict what he will do. He love reacted and did same back. My game was a wash so i went to his game. He waved when i got there. At drinks came over and said hello. Kinda talled a bit when they batting. He ended up buying me two beers. Sunday we messaged on messenger. Then he didnt message from about 1130 onwards till about 10 at night but was still snapping. He wasnt working. I asked covid stop him working. He replied he had a day off and that can i keep a secret because he went on a date. He said she nice but not sure.
