I'm pretty sure he's just bipolar which is a lot to deal with but very treatable with meds. But when they refuse to take the meds they will definitely get severe episodes every once in a while. I have experience with BPD in my family. In some of his content it was very clear he was experiencing mania. No evidence but I always assumed a major reason he moved to Asia was to be away from family members that were trying to push him to take meds.
