Considering Circumcision

I was cut as an adult simply because I wanted to be. I wish it had been done when I was born. I have no regrets about it. I love my circumcised dick. I didn't like the hassle of having a foreskin. The smell of the smegma was another problem. I think a circumcised dick looks much better than an uncircumcised one. I would opt for a rather higher up on the shaft scar line. My cut is loose but I didn't know at the time of my operation I could have had a higher up scar line. My scar is only about one fourth of an inch from the head. When soft the shaft skin rolls forward half way onto the head. I have to manually pull it back. It feels uncomfortable when that happens.
I was given a prescription for Amy Nitrate ampuls to use in the event of an erection. I'm glad I no longer have that ugly, smelly foreskin.

As a guy that had his foreskin removed due to medical reasons (phimosis) somewhat recently, I would personally say you keep it if there's no serious issue just because it's less of a hassle to recover (see why below) but it's really not that bad.

The reason I would mainly say to keep it is because masturbation is easier (plus foreskin can be fun for your partner to play with). Thankfully, my skin is pretty loose so I don't need lotion in order to jack off (unless I want to spice things up) but I know that sometimes, it doesn't turn out that way for some and masturbation always requires lotion. Also, the healing process can also be taxing; I don't know your libido levels but mine are always high and not being able to touch, masturbate or even get erect for 2 weeks was impossible and it HURT (Technically speaking, you're not even supposed to masturbate for at least a month post-surgery but I was too horny; it hurt like hell when I would get hard). Also, your cock head will get overexcited and it takes some time to get used to it rubbing against material. For me, it took about a month for me to be fully comfortable and walk normally.

With that said, however, I want to point out that I'm very happy to have gone through with the surgery due to a couple of reasons, namely that my dick is cleaner, doesn't smell, looks nice and I can now have sex without pain. Therefore there are still benefits for having it done.

I just want to end by saying that this is your body and it's ultimately your choice with what you want to do with it but I wanted to put in my two cents. Hope it was helpful and good luck if you decide to pursue with the surgery! You can PM me if you have any other questions or if you need some clarifications on some things.

A foreskin protects your tip from rubbing. Cut guys lose a lot of sensitivity to their tip due to callusing. Also you are cutting away tissue loaded with nerve endings that feels great during sex. Cutting with no other reason than laziness just seems crazy to me.

Cleaning your cock is no harder than brushing your teeth.

I'm baffled that some people in these forums say they want/wanted to get circumcised, but rarely say clearly why. As an uncut man, I can't understand why any adult who doesn't have medical reasons (phimosis etc) would want to have part of their body surgically removed. It's potentially a painful operation, with possible complications, and likely to reduce the sensitivity of your penis. Unless your foreskin is excessively tight (a medical reason to consider getting cut), cleaning underneath it when you have a shower takes a few seconds. Sorry, but I just don't get it.

Don't do it... Seriously!

Ignore all the bullshit that says that you don't lose sensitivity, because you will!

I could use my cock head to hammer in nails without flinching (slight exaggeration admittedly) and sex is pretty much a waste of time. I've only ever managed to receive enough stimulation during sex to cum three times in my life.

If you're foreskin isn't broken then don't try and fix it!

I know three guys who are 'naturally circumcised' - ie, their foreskins receded on their own during puberty, and they all look circumcised at a quick glance. I know several more who have the glans naturally half-uncovered all the time. Not one of them is unhappy with this state of affairs. They do not complain of reduced sensitivity, nor feel the need to 'restore'.

It also shows that an uncovered glans is a perfectly natural, if uncommon, thing.

I have one of these foreskins that rarely fully cover the head. Uncut is uncut!
The reason why guys like us are happy is because nothing has been unnecessarily removed. I've known many guys that have the 'smaller' foreskin. No-one calls it 'naturally circumcised'; we're not. Nothing's missing. There's nothing needing restoration.
Talk about scrambling because you're losing an argument!

That's why I put the term in quotes. But actually, one of my mates DOES so describe himself, so don't generalize.

I am not 'losing an argument': I am not in one. I was merely making a n observation.

Hey guys,

I'm an intact (uncut) British guy thinking of getting circumcised. There's absolutely nothing really wrong with my foreskin, other than the fact that it gets a bit smelly at the end of a busy day. Even if I shower often in a day, the smell will come back.

I was wondering if there were any guys out there that have recently had a circumcision and what were your reasons, were they similar to mine. I have no problems with retracting etc. I'm just very fussy about hygiene and actually prefer the look of a cut penis.

Also, what style circumcision do you have. I've read you can have a 'tight' or 'loose' cut and have the scar high or low. Did you have your frenulum removed?

Look forward to your views.

You are blessed with a protective, highly-innervated, erogenous foreskin. Many unforeskinned guys would envy your foreskin. You display great wisdom in wanting to avoid circumcision,

You should thank your parents for protecting your physical integrity. Because of your physical integrity you will be able to have sex the way nature intended it.

Circumcision is an ELECTIVE operation. You donÂ’t have to have a circumcision. You have lived your life thus far without a circumcision and you can continue to do so. You are choosing to have a circumcision.

The foreskin has protective, immunological, sensory, and sexual functions. The areas of the penis with the greatest tactile sensation are all on the foreskin.

Adult circumcision is an extremely destructive, permanently injurious, radical operation that severs blood vessels, nerves, and other tissue. The permanent and irreversible amputation excises the most sexually sensitive part of the penis. Sensation is permanently reduced.

Most conditions for which circumcision has been historically performed may now be conservatively treated without surgery.

Complications include hemorrhage, infection, and surgical accident.
There are many possible adverse outcomes, including total loss of the penis and even death.

The operation severs nerves and blood vessels, so sensation and blood circulation are permanently impaired. The ability to have an erection may be impaired. The ability to ejaculate may be impaired.

The recovery period is usually painful and takes about six weeks.

The cost is about US$2,500 to US$3,000. Your insurance may or may not pay for it, because it is non-therapeutic. They may consider it to be elective cosmetic surgery.

The sensitive head of your penis will be permanently exposed to friction on clothing and there will be nothing to cover and protect it.

You will have to alter your method of masturbation. Most circumcised guys need to use artificial lubrication.

Adult circumcision is outmoded as a treatment for phimosis.

Many men later regret their decision to be circumcised because of the loss of so much sexual sensation.

Why would anyone choose to amputate his foreskin? All of us "amputees" are damaged and angry at our parents, doctors, the scalpel industry, medical science, etc.

The OP owns his penis. We don't. So don't try to shame him for wanting a circumcision. He just wants to make an informed decision. I had myself circumcised at age 30 and have no regrets at all, and I think there's little chance that the OP will regret it. In my experience, the guys who regret being circumcised tend to be the ones who were cut without their informed consent. Infant circumcision is wrong on human rights grounds, so I think the anti-circ guys should lobby their parliaments, which would be something positive to do about it, instead of being mean to individuals, which is so, so negative.

Seems that this thread keeps getting a bit tense msg by msg... If you want it, just go for it. You already know what it feels like with a "hood on". A change may be for the better. Let us see before and after pictures to help us broaden our minds, when you are done.
