Cravings

I crave Mexican food all the time. It must be a recessive Latin gene in me somewhere, or the inclination for that kind of food comes from a past life. I have no idea. Always washed down with a Mojito with fresh oranges and honey in the mix.
You and me both. I grew up on the west coast eating chile rellenos and seafood enchiladas. I can't get enough.

My blood boils when I don't consume Kettle chips: Thai Spice or Backyard BBQ chips at least once a month.

Their salt and vinegar chips kick ass. I rarely buy them because if they're in the house I can't keep my hand out of the bag.

This may sound strange but, unlike some women who crave chocolate during their menstrual cycle, I don't. I crave indian food. It's the ultimate comfort food for me and I swear it's the particular blend of spices (curry, cloves, anise) that makes me yearn for it.

Yesterday, I baked a really good meatloaf using MANWICH Bold Sloppy Joe Sauce. It was really delicious.

If you are squemish about touching raw meat...you can use food grade gloves. That is what I do sometimes when mixing ground meat for meatloaves.

It isn't just touching it. I would have to wear a blindfold too so I don't have to look at the red bloody mess. Yeccch! So much so that I get nauseous and nearly throw up if I see raw meat. Even if I order meat in a restaurant, and it has ANY trace of pink in it, I spit it out, gag, and send it back PRONTO to be COOKED THROUGHOUT!!! Then sometimes I can't eat it after all because I saw the pink or red.

Yeah, that's a quirk of mine... I was a vegetarian for 2 or 3 years because of this. But I hate to cook so I just go with what's easy - pre-cooked meat, frozen dinners and eating out. :biggrin1: And to make me even MORE quirky, I love sushi, including the raw fish sushi! Especially the smoked salmon. Go figure...

Haha.... lots of people craving gyros here too! Good stuff isn't it? As long as I don't have to look at it while it's raw. :biggrin1:

I HAVE HAD THOSE. THOSE ARE DE-LI-CIOUS!!!!

LAY'S...You can't eat just one. Hide the DORITOS Nacho Cheese flavor. (They had SALSA VERDE flavored tortilla chips...OH THOSE WERE AMAZING!!! Too bad, the Frito-Lay higher ups suspended making them. THOSE WOULD BE IN THE GOODY TRUNK ON THE DESERT ISLAND. And I would barter them for sex with Matthew Fox.:biggrin1:

Oh, boy. I love the curries and the vindaloos. The poppadums and Naans. And good chai tea. Woo!!!

Well, I cook all meats to WELL DONE temperature. I don't like any bloodied meats at all.

I don't eat sushi. I don't eat sashimi. I don't even eat raw oysters or anything with raw eggs.
:biggrin1:

Don't worry steak tartare was never for my friends...only for the relatives that stay too long. :biggrin1:

What I have been craving that I have not been able to find in two different supermarkets this week are Sugar Daddies....the candy.

Perhaps Mary Janes would do? They're essentially the same thing without the stick.

Is that why you were snarfing down Ritz crackers and smoked gouda on my couch when I walked in tonight?

I'm not sure. I didn't really think about it but you may be right. I thought I'd get some cheese and crackers and grabbed a box of Ritz at Duane Reade. They didn't have any decent cheese so I went next door to Eden and then it all just came together.

Oh I love curries. Give me a good spicy lamb curry with lots of chutney and poori bread and I'm good to go. It's messy but wonderful.

Surely you didn't expect to find a decent cheese--or any at all, for that matter--at Duane Reade?!!
