That producer's viewpoint feels stuck in a 2000s and 2010s studio porn mindset. Not denying some American fans prefer gay-for-pay performers, and sure, internalized homophobia might play a role, but there’s probably more going on. I know I might offend some by saying this, but openly gay performers in Czech studio porn have usually been slightly less conventionally attractive (adonises like Honza Onus being the exception than the rule). So to me, that points to selection bias rather than purely audience preference for gay-for-pay. When self-made openly gay stars like Zdeněk Kučera (Tristan Hale), Marty Smith, and others emerge and generate huge fan followings, that just shows how far behind some legacy producers still are with their gatekeeping.
