I remember Dan saying he got invited to do the reboot (either that or a podcast) and he turned it down saying he was making way more money now and that he wouldn’t go back (I believe he posted a video saying this on TikTok or twitter, can’t remember) so it would make sense David saying one person shouldn’t be there and not mean it as shade.

This just messy because David could’ve and should’ve controlled his reaction and moved to the next topic. Dan is well aware that the fact he has and still does porn ruled him out from being considered in the reboot. But as he stated before, his work as an actor wasn’t paying the bills and to his knowledge, no reboot was in the works. On top of that he figured why not since someone already leaked nudes of him a few years earlier. So he used OF to take control of his narrative.

And I know, others have had scandalous jobs or leaks. Hell, Cerina Vincent played the mom in Stuck in the Middle and she was butt ass naked in Not Another Teen Movie. Jerry Russo (David Deluise) had nudes leak jo and spreading his ass, but he will likely return for the reboot because they need a few more cast members for nostalgia other than Selina.
But they weren’t as recent or graphic (just barely) as Dan’s, and he knew that and excepted it. Similar could be said for Isaak, Peyton and Kenton. Adam was still able to book small roles on Nick.

But the main problem is demonizing Dan when it’s not necessary. It would’ve took no effort to just name someone else to return and glide past Dan. But to comment and make faces as if you’re so much better of a person is wrong and should not have happened in front of that cast. To act that way when this is one of the first “significant” projects you’ve had in years is sad.

Disney shows have a lifespan of 4 seasons if they’re lucky. Many fizzle out after 2. The rare exception to this was Bunk’d and Ravens Home, which both did a soft second reboot. And still Dan clears what he stands to make even with being an actor/ ep by a large margin.

Like if he doesn’t like Dan, that’s fine but to make a point to shade, then block him on social media is a cowards move.

disney has a reputation of cancelling shows after 3 years or rebranding them after 3 years. cuz any longer and they have to pay the main cast more money. so they cancel them or rebrand (suite life with zach and cody turned into Suite life on a cruise ship with zach and cody. legally a different show)

they at most will keep the show 3 seasons and then rebrand it and focus on Billie (the new alex/lead) and fire most of the rest of the cast and change the setting, probably to the magic school that where billie will be a student and Justin will be reinstated as a teacher (if he's lucky)

True, but they only do that with shows that are popular. If it doesn’t pull consistently high ratings, Disney will axe it because it costs more due to sfx. Either way it’s not worth Dan sacrificing his current income. I just wish there wasn’t so much judgement.

Christy Carlson Romano did great by actually having a discussion with Dan with understanding. Even though sex work was not something she’d consider, she didn’t act as if he was less than.
