Yeah but if you sign on to a tv show and especially one like the last of us (which everyone expected to be renew) you should be available for all seasons. Or at least give the show priority in your schedule. Other wise the role should had been given to another actor. A recast breaks the continuity of a show badly.

Shit happens. I'd rather see Danny in roles that'll actually utilise his talents. This one didn't.
