I've learned to take anything he says with a grain of salt, not because I think he's being dishonest but because I think he's still trying to figure himself out and unfortunately has to do so in the public eye.

I feel the same way about some of his fashion choices, too. Sometimes, he looks great. Other times, really not my favorite. I think he still doesn’t have a clearly-defined aesthetic and just throws stuff at a wall to see what sticks… when really half the time, I’d just rather see him go more minimalist and show off his arms.

Oh, and do away with all the shades he’s been wearing lately. They make him look douchey and unapproachable.

This is why I really take issue with this forum -- not one person is outright bashing or disregarding the way he approaches and lives his queer life. We're simply discussing things or perhaps even disagreeing on occasion.

But to equate that to not having empathy or understanding for what he's going through is a huge stretch of the text. Anyway, fine -- I'll go back to lurking and enjoying him visually, instead of trying to engage in conversation with adults.

I think you verbalized what wanted to say pretty well. I love David and absolutely have empathy for him and his journey. At the same time, I’m not gonna love every choice he makes, fashion or otherwise. And I think we’re allowed to talk about those things that we don’t love along with the things we do, provided we’re not being nasty about them and keeping him as a person in mind.
