David archuleta

This explains why some people on this thread thinks he's trying to be "sexy" too hard.
Partially. His coming out and walking away from Mormonism has freed him from a lot of the hangups and anxiety that he experienced in his 20s..

I think more than anything, in his 30s, he's going through what a lot of gay men go through after high school, where they can be themselves, they find their community and they start focusing on themselves.

Part of that change for him was hiring a trainer and getting into good shape, which made him more comfortable wearing more revealing clothes and taking his shirt off during outdoor performances. Another part of it was going out dancing, enjoying the music and letting go in public for the first time in his life.

I wouldn't say that he's trying to be "sexy", anymore than I would say he's being more femme or flirty. He's just being who he always was, if not for his religion suppressing those traits.

I know where he's coming, I was raised a JW and even though I'm no longer religious I still feel very uncomfortable talking openly about sex in a conversational setting. I think we've gotten so used to sex positive influencers that discuss every nook and cranny of their sex lives that we forget that there are still people who prefer to keep their sex lives private.

It's written all over his face.

I recently watched this interview, it was kinda revealing and sad at the same time. He mentioned he was suicidal (as most gay people are) and I think that sentiment is still there, I'm not really sure if he's on medication but I'm glad he was able to survive and that he is still with us. He literally said he was fully ready to commit.

He is prude to me in the sense that he still shy away from uncomfortable questions, he doesn't really elaborate about his male partners, and not to mention the sex topic which he avoids completely. The fact that he is still working on his homophobic religious views make me so sad. You can tell he still has issues with it.
That doesn’t really make someone prude, a lot of people just prefer not to be so out there with sex topics. Prude would be him acting like he’s above it which isn’t the case, it’s just something he doesn’t want to talk about.

Your phrasing left it open to question.

Good luck with this one.

It's very similar with JW, although the shunning and disfellowship threats with JW add more humiliation.

At least JWs can drink. The video with Johnny Sibilly where David gets tipsy drinking a cocktail was shocking to David's Mormon fans. Add to that David's talking openly about sex in that video and his LDS fans were probably getting the vapors.

Yesss! Been a fan since his American Idol says. When it comes to his music, it's been fun seeing his music grow over the years

The alcohol thing doesn't bother as I don't drink but the no coffee thing would absolutely break me. 😂

Not to rehash an older picture but has anyone managed to find an HQ/HD version of this picture, or the photoshoot this came from?

I think I finally figured out David.

Even tho' I really appreciate his efforts to present and handle himself a bit more "sexy", if that makes ANY sense at all, the entire thing feels forced, manufactured, unnatural. Sexy David is just not David.

I can read him like a book. David shines like a DIAMOND like the boy next door he's always been. The gay community is also noticing his forced "sex-appeal" and that's why his music hasn't really taken off.

The general public doesn't really care either.

David is in this sort of limbo that's just undesirable for any artist. I wish him the best, and I wish him a better management.
