You are using "character" to refer to Rocker's morals and bad reputation, whereas I used the word to refer to his entertaining and distinctive show biz personality. He's like Groucho Marx, W.C. Fields, Frank Zappa and others who are amusingly irreverent and cannot be taken very seriously.
I believe most people have been "educated" (i.e. brainwashed) by the school system to react with ANGER! to any displays of racialism, sexism, etc. Frankly, I'm never offended by racist or sexist comments. Yeah, racism can be as vague or specific as you choose it to be. There are also minorities who are racist. Anti-semetic(sp?) and what not.
My whole family is basically racist, it made for quite a difficult growing up.
