The grand jury wrote that it made its decision "with great sadness," but said they had no other choice but to indict Mr Cheney and Mr Gonzales "because we love our country."

How about, because there's a strong case? What's loving their country got to do with it?

One can only hope that a lot of other miscreants from the last seven and a half years will somehow be brought to where they will have to answer for their betrayal of the American Constitution and of the people who are the source of the power under that constitution. Don't bet your savings on it though.
