Diplomacy

Sometimes I see this from you though.

Soren: What do you prefer, beer or wine.
A1: Some days I prefer beer, some days I prefer wine, depends on my mood.
A2: I really don't have a preference as long as I get to enjoy them on a beach.
A3: I can't drink alchohol so I'm usually the designated driver.
Soren: Stop being evasive and tell me which one you prefer!

Sometimes people just aren't going to have an answer that you wanted to hear. They're not trying to be evasive assholes, they just felt like joining the conversations but didn't feat neatly into either of the square holes you allotted for their responses.

None likes everything equally. There is always a 50.1%. You know the whole " gun to your head " kind of questions.

Soren buddy, diplomacy, and tact for that matter, are not words that comes to my mind when I think of you; unfortunately, that opinion formed from reading your numerous threads and comments around LPSG.

TexanStar has done an admirable job of explaining why your opening post here falls flat; it's ironic coming from you. Others here have weighed in as well with similar observations. No one is picking on you; they are simply pointing out the obvious. And you are struggling to see it, or at best, admit it to yourself.

I sense frustration in your postings. I get that you want to be part of the LPGS forum family. I'd hazard to guess that most who post here do too. Your participation is welcome. But Soren, don't you get weary of getting negative reactions to your relentless hammering on the same subjects? I know I do.

Sometimes I think you are simply trying much too hard. Way too hard. Especially in the Ask a Woman forums. The women there have certainly been more than patient, eh?

You do strike me as persistent. Very persistent. And stubborn. You seem to never give up. Ever. However, while both can be, at certain times, very positive traits, neither is working too well for you right now.

If I were wearing your shoes, I'd take a big step back and spend some time in serious reflection. It's not the first time you've been called out on this same issue in your other threads. And I suspect it won't be the last. That makes me sad for you. I hope I'm wrong. Prove me wrong. Take a deep breath. Chill. It's all good!

miss my LPSG diplomacy

'mark as read' function Rob
you owner/cad/fiend etc ha

but no matter, minor thing in the garand scheme of life duh???

and No it doesent have to be in 'questions and answers' he wont be able to read/understand what i am saying anyway

Trimplike crap anyway but who gives a F' like everything it comes up with duh

but then again
hijacking/trolling even are my forte apparently haha
mods have let me TROLL for 10 years plus?? duh, shame on them? and theyre the monitors, geesh

when does a contibution
just become accepted, and not seen as a liabity to be questioned ?? ha

True but as said this happens even when a simple question gets cut to 2 or 3 or more small parts. The issue then is that people ignore to answer some of the parts rendering the answer not an answer at all. This happens to other's threads also , I'm not talking about mine alone.

I'm going to sau
Ok. One example where evasion happens.

Q: what do you prefer beer or wine

A: I like them both

Well this answers nothing honestly. The question is to name what you prefer or like more not to say that you like them both. You can say that you like them both but have a follow up saying that out of the two I prefer coffee more.

I hope this clarifies it.

Your brain works not like mine. The question is silly because it uses a disjunction that demands you choose either or. The distinction used to be based in class. Beer was for plebs. Wine for nobles. Given that a larger percent of beer drinkers also drink wine than those who only drink one or the other, the question is not useful. Which do you prefer and why would be my replacement. American pop culture is set up as if the world divides into right and left and that they are mutually exclusive and right or wrong. That's ideology. Not reality. This is classic social science methods. Don't ask a question that excludes the largest dataset (both drinks comsumed) and expect a useful answer. Those who answered both looked at the choices and surmised it was not possible to make the choice and they ignored that and answered what they do in fact which is drink both.

Coffee as the most popular stimulant certainly follows beer and wine as it is one of three beverages with drugs most people consume. We're trained in vice questions by hundreds of studies questionnaires and doctors who ask if we drink booze or coffee. Again, what were you hoping to capture here? It's not clear from the question.

No one is a computer either. You are asking for quantification of an emotional response.

I like mac & cheese more than I like salad, but I can't say that I like it more or less than lasagna. Some days I'm in the mood for lasagna, some days I'm in the mood for lasagna. I might be in the mood for one on more days than the other, but I don't maintain any tracking of this. A scientist would need to study my appetite in a daily journal to build out a picture.

So no, there is not always a 50.1%. If you put a gun to my head I would give you an answer, but I would also be lying.

there is this theory that say when you are torn between 2 options and you let a coin decide what you'll do or have , that the exact moment when you throw the coin in the air, deep inside you wish for one of the 2 possible outcomes. the outcome you like the most is the one you wish at that exact moment.

I've honestly never flipped a coin to make a decision in my life :p
