No he’s been doing gay joke songs in different styles for years. “Keep ridin” had all the Tik Tok dude bros pretending to be gay emo punk rock singers for all of last year.

I don’t honestly know what his sexuality is but when all his “gay” music is just a vulgar joke so that it doesn’t alienate frat bros then it’s pretty obvious that he’s just cashing in.

It’s also slightly offensive when you have genuinely sincere gay male country singers who have been trying to break out for years with well written gay love songs being overlooked for a comedic take on gay sex.

JAKE HILL is doing that interview as the character. Jake is a straight man who creates music and started doing parody songs about gay sex as a JOKE. When the songs started selling better than his serious work then he decided to create more and really play up the character. When he uses the Southern drawl then he’s in character.

It was funny as a one off parody song but when he releases a whole EP and starts doing concerts as the character it’s crossing into minstrel show land.

Not once has he mentioned anything about donating even a portion of the profits to any LGBT charities or to help fight any of the homophobic legislation being passed.

I’m all for humor and parody music. SubRadio has some funny stuff and they actually have queer members.

He’s going to play the part of the martyr claiming he’s catching it from all sides but that’s bullshit. The dude bros that are singing along at his concerts don’t believe he’s gay they know he’s making of being gay.
