Dolan twins

The twins sold their house. Really interesting when also considering them going completely MIA. Were they going broke and needed a quick fix of cash? Moving back to Jersey now that they are apparently over the fame life? Moving to Australia since they've always talked about that and Kristina seems to be there full time now via her IG posts? What do y'all think?

Though they bought it barely two years ago, public records confirm social media superstars Ethan and Grayson Dolan have unexpectedly sold their sublime midcentury modern house for nearly $3 million. That’s a big step above the $2.2 million the now-retired YouTubers paid for the Encino property in 2019; per the listing, the house “sold before processing,” meaning a buyer swooped in before the place even had a chance to officially hit the market. Records reveal the new owner is a local woman who’s clearly quite rich but not famous.

While they raked in an $800,000 profit on paper, the Dolans also made extensive renovations to the home, a single-level structure originally built in 1958 by little-known architect John P. Pederson. Back when they bought the place, the decor was inoffensively bland to the point of banality, with white walls and gray tones throughout. The twins remedied that by adding spicy pops of color and new furnishings throughout — hot pink chairs and bench seating paired with a forest green wall, floral wallpaper in the living room, and a vividly patterned wallpaper in the master bedroom. There’s also a secondary bedroom suite with an emerald-green wall and moss-green, floor-to-ceiling shower tiles.

But perhaps the Dolans’ most controversial change lies outside the house. Back when they bought it, the half-acre lot featured a big, irregularly-shaped swimming pool with an inset spa. Updated photos show they’ve removed both the pool and spa, backfilling the whole shebang with dirt and covering the watery gravesite with a grassy lawn.

The pool deletion is very unusual in suburban Los Angeles, where backyard swimming has been highly coveted ever since the COVID-19 pandemic. But the twins also added a bunch of other features out back to compensate — there’s now an outdoor gym, which kept the fitness-oriented twins occupied during the pandemic. There’s also a new outdoor sauna off the master bedroom and a hillside gazebo with “bar for sunset cocktails,” per the listing, plus a custom “tiny-house” / shed that Ethan Dolan built as a surprise for his brother.

Born and bred in New Jersey, the Dolan Twins first came to prominence as young teenagers on the now-defunct Vine app, before transitioning to YouTube and Tik Tok. The pair became millionaires after reaching up more than 10 million subscribers and 1.8 billion lifetime views on YouTube, where they were known for their collaborations with other high-profile personalities such as Emma Chamberlain, James Charles and Jeffree Star.

No word yet on where the twins, both 21, are heading next on their real estate journey. But it’s been nearly a year since the pair officially quit YouTube to pursue other ventures, so they’ve certainly got the freedom to cut loose from their L.A. residential anchor altogether.

The amount of renovations (and re-renovations after they kept changing their mind) they did, I doubt they profited much all said and done… getting rid of that pool was a dumbass move.

Yeah I don’t understand why they would get rid of a pool in that area. But I’m sure there are people (like the supposed buyer) who don’t mind not having one.

i find it more interesting that someone bought it at a higher value, before it went into the market and with stuff like the pool being removed.

maybe a rich neighbor that wants to expand but idk seems weird

Ermmmm... hello people. Isn't it sort of obvious that they sold the house because their major source of income (YouTube) is no longer?

Their YouTube channel has 10.4m subs with 275 videos. At this point they're raking in tens of thousands a month in passive income, and odds are it'll stay that way for quite some time. They were not hurting for money unless they were very stupid with their money and lost it all, which I don't think was the case.

Them getting rid of the pool and building an outdoor gym, to me, proves they planned to live their long term... so something must've happened that made them completely change their mind. It's like they woke up one day and they both were like, "nah, we don't want to do this anymore". If that's what they want, good for them.

Personally, from what I've watched throughout the years of their career. There have been multiple instances of them spending their money on useless items hence the many interviews of them explaining that they fell into this false lifestyle of flaunting their money on useless materialistic things such as cars, Buses, jewelry, House renovations, and gifts to “friends.” I wouldn't be surprised that their revenue from their YouTube channel is almost depleted at this point due stagnant level it's at. Although their channel has a lot of subscribers, which isn't the way their revenue from their channel is counted, it mainly from the views of their videos and the sponsorship of those videos, which as we all saw was a decline in their later videos and one of the reasons why they quit YouTube. Also, yes, I do agree they possibly do make a decent income from their channel regardless if it's a lot, but I will say it's not as much as many maybe think. It is considering how their later videos in views were doing. Lastly, in terms of their house renovation, I do agree that they possibly did think they were going to have that property potentially be like their permanent home but considering their circumstance being Ethan and his girlfriend, I guess settling down and probably wanting a space to themselves and Grayson possibly having to establish his self and relationship it just probably made sense to let that property go. This is all personal perspective, by the way.

Wasn’t this guy on MTVs Are You The One? If so, he always gave me creep vibes.
Same here which is why I was like "wtf" when they started hanging out
