Hetty Wainthropp was a tv series on BBC with an old lady (Hetty wainthropp) as a kinda Miss Marple character. The guy is Dominic Monaghan who had a role in the programme.

Dominic was born in Berlin and lived in Germany until he was age 12, when his family moved back to the UK. Hence he also speaks fluent German.
