Dreams

Lately I've been trying my hand at lucid dreaming. My best attempts so far involve doing at least a few reality checks a day -- in my case I've chosen to pick up something and read it. Doesn't matter what. Then in my dreams, when things get a little crazy, I try to envision a person picking up a piece of paper on a table and reading what it says

I don't know how much this helps or anything. It's just something that I am trying out.

I lucid dream sometimes, though I usually can't control/direct everything. It's more I can think of a person/thing/etc or two and add them in and the dream wanders in the direction I chose, even if the small details aren't picked by me. Sometimes I'm myself, sometimes I'm someone or something else. Usually it's first person. My dreams tend to be very vivid. Sounds, colors, emotions. I don't recall if scent is a thing I pick up on much, or at all.

've practiced and had some success at trying to form my dreams.

But, for the most part the subconscious does not wish to play with the conscious part. Funny how we wish to try to remember the good, but not the bad.

The human mind never stops....we go to sleep, it does not. Extreme curiosity. I think..well my perception is we ground ourselves in our dreams, yet we also imagine.

It is one thing to invite excitement and imagination into your dreams. But I don't think I would like my subconscious dreams to invade my conscious thoughts. Because it's difficult enough at times working out stuff in the conscious world.

Probably could go on for some while here..but won't. I find envisioning a clear mind is best. Being a little out of control is fun.

Don't try to to control your subconscious mind....it may backfire on you. I think if I wanted to control my own subconscious thoughts consciously, would that mean I would try to control others?

:) Cue....twilight zone.....

So many cool responses here - I won't quote all of them, but I'll be 'referencing' them.

Colour dreamer here. Never been a 'flyer' but I have started 'floating' in the past year or so. Doesn't happen very often but it feels AWESOME! I don't hover in the one spot, I move, but slowly (which is why I don't consider it 'flying') like zero gravity or hot-air ballooning.

Vivid dreamer here - if I'm eating/drinking something, I can taste it. I feel things, I hear things, I smell things, etc. Vivid dreaming has it's drawbacks though - I sometimes dream that I'm bursting for a piss and when I finally find a place to go (after many failed/thwarted attempts), it feels so real that I wake up in a panic thinking I've pissed the bed!  :cold_sweat:

I sometimes dream that I'm running late for school. I run around the house in a tizzy because my homework/project/assignment isn't ready or I can't find my lunch/bag/uniform. Then I'll start waking up, slowly remembering that I'm 40 years old and it doesn't matter.

I wish I could 'keep' my dreams. I'd love my brain to have a built-in PVR/DVR that would automatically record all my dreams. I would delete all the horrible ones, transfer the others to a USB stick or something and watch them again and again.

My dreams are always very visual, with vivid colors, sounds and lots of details. And always seen through my eyes. Sometimes my dreams are so clear it’s like watching a movie. A terrible movie which makes no sense and is all over the place, but I can often recall the dream like you can with a movie you’ve seen.

Last night I dreamed about being in NYC, standing in the doorway of a building which I first didn’t knew was in NYC, with an old friend I was surprised to find there. She was complaining about the terrible weather and I asked her to stop talking for a moment to just appreciate the scenery and being glad to be there to begin with since we were almost about to leave and needed to go back home again. Sun was out, it was raining heavily, dark blue skies, lights reflected in the water puddles on the street and I was calmly looking around appreciating the view. Suddenly I noticed a four story building (brown stones) to my left at the end of the street were the lights inside had a warm color and I noticed it was some kind of supermarket or convenient store (thinking back it was something you would never see like that but still..). People were walking in and out and I was thinking about going in myself to get something for on the way back home. When looking to my right I noticed my friend, now dressed in a rain coat enjoying the view herself and looking around peacefully. And then I woke up. It made no sense but it was quite a relaxing dream.

So, I dreamed once about being lost in Peyton Manning's house, I went from room to room in a mad rush, upstairs and downstairs, looking for the kitchen, it was urgent I find the kitchen until I enter this room and there's my wife's ex-boyfriend taking his huge cock to my wife and I just watched. A week later my wife confessed that she had been with him the day after my dream, but before I told her about the dream.

Months later I had a dream that I was hiking in the woods, and came upon this little cabin, and I went inside... her ex-boyfriend was sitting back while she gave him oral and suddenly I was naked and he was making fun of how little I was and how my wife couldn't refuse his big cock. A few days later my wife asked if she could invite him to our lake house for the long weekend that were were planning on going up for.

I'm kind of worried now though because last weekend I had a dream that I entered this large ballroom in a mansion, i was in my tux and it was full of people i knew and as i got to the center of the room my wife was in just lingerie and heels dancing with her ex-boyfriend. And everyone circled around and watched as my wife undressed him while dancing and then gave him oral and let him take her with all our friends and family watching.

Hope the amazing Enid doesn't mind me bringing this one back.

So last night I had one of the scariest dreams I've ever had in my life. I woke up like freaked out so bad. This dream has one of my worst fears in it.

So the dream involved me, this guy I was with, and a friend of ours. So the three of us are at a restaurant and these guys start messing with us calling us names, throwing stuff at us, and being real jerks. So the guy I'm with gets up and goes over to them and tells them off and he walks back to the table and tells us that we're leaving so we grab our stuff and leave the restaurant. Outside the restaurant the guys from the restaurant follow us over to our car and we get in except for the guy im with he goes over to one of the guys and says something else to him and the guy tries to swing at my guy and he ducks and misses and my guy leans back and punches the guy in the face. The guy falls to the ground and his guys hes with walk over to him and look after him and we are shouting at my guy to get in the car so we can go. He runs to the car and we go.
Days go by and we're having things happen that arent normal like getting calls where no one says anything. Suspicious people walking by the place where we stay. Having people follow us. And so we're thinking after awhile its the people from the restaurant. So I'm getting freaked out because this is one of my worst fears. So we decide to leave for the weekend and to go away on a trip. We arrive at the weekend we are expected to leave and we're out at a gas station getting gas and supplies for the road trip. And my guy is inside getting the supplies and I'm pumping the gas and done and I'm sitting in the driver's seat waiting for him to return. Out of the rearview mirror I see a vehicle pull up and out jumps several guys and my guy is walking out and sees them and he instantly recognizes them and starts to run for our car...he doesn't make it and they grab him and drag him out in the middle of the road and one guy has a baseball bat and he hits him with a full swing to the back of the one of his knees as my guy falls down they pick him back up and they hit the other knee. He is down on the ground writhing in pain and they're now kicking and hitting him with the baseball bat and the one guy who he punched walks over and hits my guy in the back of the head with a baseball bat and my guy is not moving any more.
Im freaking out as i am frozen in place in shock as this all happens. The group turns and looks toward me and before i knew it i had started the car and peeled out of the gas station as fast as i could.
I drove home as fast as i could and grabbed everything I could that was important to me and all the personal items i could. I grabbed all my clothes and threw it all in the car and took off for the train station. I bought a train ticket and boarded the train and found my seat as fast as possible. I called the other guy who was with us that night at the restaurant and told him everything that happened and told him he needed to get out of town as fast as possible because they may be watching his home and him too. I told him to call the police immediately and to tell them what i just said. I hung up and called the police for the incident at the gas station. Not to long after that the train started and I saw on the news they were covering the incident at the gas station.

I remember parts differently now but i think the other person in the car with me and my guy was also killed by the group of guys from the restaurant but at a later time in the story.

The assumption is my guy is dead or they continued to beat the shit out of him after i hauled ass out of there to save my life and that killed him. From what I remember my guy takes such serious damage I am sure he's dead.

That's how you bump a thread!!

I will contribute more about how I dream after my busy morning slows down a bit...

I dream regularly, always in 1st person. I am usually myself, but there is always an odd mix of reality and weirdness. The most common theme is some sort of performance anxiety. I am a musician and have done public performances in Gilbert and Sullivan operettas (twenty years ago). I have had numerous dreams where I am supposed to be on stage soon, in a role I did years ago, but with inadequate rehearsal, so I am worried about remembering the music, lyrics, blocking, you name it.

I used to dream a lot about being back in high school even though I am aware I am much older.

I rarely dream about sex. I would love to but, oh well.

Last night I dreamt I was a Hamptons wife who was following a fashion designer who looked like Kristin Bell. We went to a fashion institute that looked like Belgrave University in The Order. She had designed me an all white outfit, but when I looked down it was the wrong outfit and I had to ask her for the one I wanted.

At the same time, there were groups of 2 or 3 people who were criminals maybe? participating in an experiment where they had to draw shapes in order to get out of trouble? I guess

Stuff seems to happen at the same time in my dreams a lot. Like I'm dreaming 2 dreams at once. It's strange, I wonder if anyone else experiences this sensation.

Now, this is going to sound a little odd. Last night I was tired, went to bed about 8:30....shortly after had a dream of flying...cept in a classroom of magicians...or a magical type of classroom or somewhat.

I elevated of the floor and began turning...faster and faster...then I thought..Ok, enough. I tried to open my eyes....vertigo...bloody hell... with the room spinning...wow, closed my eyes, same...3rd time I woke up all good. Not just in my dream, but the actual room I was sleeping in.

This is the first time I have experienced this. After I woke I thought...crap...I've had a stroke..but heartbeat was regular. I stared at the ceiling. Then began to get goosebumps from the top of my head all the way down to my toes every 30 seconds or so for about 5 minutes.

I think I experienced something which was not frightening, I would go there again no problem just to find out how or what happened. So bloody unusual.
