Johnny has been doing it for a while. Since October at least. After he met Jackson in August. Jackson was painting his nails when Johnny met Jackson.

Jackson maybe hasn't done it for a while because all the other guys started doing it too.
Johnny, Bryce Hall, Chase Hudson, Tayler Holder, etc.

That’s so interesting - I think Jackson’s the one who looks like a creepy skeleton, while Johnny just looks naturally lean. Different tastes, I guess
