I think his acting is quite sharper than his music, even tho' he is quite mediocre in both.

Agree. His music is not something you would like to repeat. Acting, is still okay. He may get some supporting role in movies or part of the main cast, if not lead in some show. That's it.

He will continue to be an actor. His current focus on Wallows is because the band was deprived from doing touring shows (ie: money) for 2 pandemic years.


The thing with music vs acting is: if you are not touring, obviously the acting career will pay much more, because recording deals eat the biggest profit slices in streaming & album sales. Tours, on other hand, are 70-80% for the artist.

That being said, I also prefer Dylan in acting.

I disagree with him being a mediocre actor. I thought he was phenomenal in 13RW and I could easily watch him acting all day. Far better than most of his peers. As for his music, Scrawny Motherfucker is the only halfway decent song they have.

Realistically, he needs to land another big role like 13RW to keep him going.

I agree. He's a great actor BUT when you have actors like Timothée Chalamet a lot of these other young male actors can't hold a candle to him.
Also the Wallows have a huge fan base.

I think y’all might be underestimating how popular his band is a little, they’re doing all the major festivals this summer, played Jimmy Fallon, got the Spotify push. I don’t think he’s going to quit acting or anything but the band is doing pretty well by the standards of actors’ musical projects imo.

Can we not measure everything in money terms please?

At this point I don't even know if my favorites are doing what they do because of money or because they are really passionate about the craft. I know living in the USA is a nightmare at this point with the inflation crisis and housing crisis and everything getting more and more expensive everyday, but common on...

Life cannot be like this. Let's think (and hope) that Dylan is touring and doing music because he really really likes it and not because he needs to pay bills and taxes.
