As a French person, I hadn't even seen some of these pictures. Macron is even cringier than I thought.

Cringy? I say fun and free. Presidents over in the States can't really let go and relax without getting hell for not acting presidential (somewhat recent exceptions apply). They can't even go on a beach vacation without a Navy ship off the coast and air traffic rerouted for X amount of miles from the president. Our president is basically forbidden from operating a car off of White House grounds, much less steer a boat as Macron is doing. Meanwhile, your president looks relaxed, happy, and somewhat free.

You are lucky that your leaders can be humans on vacations instead of playing up for the cameras and press 24/7. A cultural plus of the French people.

I'm a french citizen and I can say that a french president can't afford to do everything he would like too. There is always bodyguards and security everywhere, even on vacations. Most of the french presidents go on vacations at the fort of Bregançon just because it's a site very protected and safe for them. This is our "cultural plus" to protect our presidents. Paparazzis are responsible for these stolen photos, but sometimes french politicians agree with posing on vacations to make publicity. Sarkozy was and Macron is good at this game. In the past, there was pictures of him in the locker room. Here, there is his hairy chest and these bare feet : maybe Macron wants to convince his gay fans that he is a real fetishist ! Ah ah !
