For the last month or so I have been having very weak erections. I don't even get morning wood anymore.

I though that maybe i was just having an off week , but it continued on. Porn doesn't even get me up , and your can masturbate with a limp dick. Then when I do get hard (a very poor one) I can't even fit a magnum , with I used to be able to. My Pops told me that maybe its because Im not mentally into or i need the real thing to get my soldier standing at attention.

Can your mental really play that much of a role in getting a hard on?

any advice would be greatly appreciated =)

I find the same thing with me... I've made a health change - I lost a lot of weight in the past few months and I find that my sexual stability (in general) is out of whack. I am also 19 years old and my erections have also gotten weaker (and my libido has also decreased, but that's not related to this topic). I'm not sure how to improve it, but it seems like when my body was at my unhealthiest that my penis was healthiest *lol*

Have you made any lifestyle changes recently?

I'm in the same boat. Used to get real big on just about anything. I can still fuck with no issue but my dick used to get much harder and I've only improved my health habits and lost weight. I'm 20 btw. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Erectyle dysfunction can be caused by stress, some sort of trama in your life (dealing with a death, legal issues, financial issues). My older brother went to see a doctor about it. After a complete exam, my brother expected a viagra prescription. His doctor prescribed cialys and recommended just using it for a few weeks. My brother is now back to himself.

I'm not sure what you guys have going on in your lives. School, finacial stress, etc can definitely impact you.

I noticed the same thing when I was trying to loose a few pounds. I began eating less, with a shift towards proteins, and I ramped up my cardio workout. I then noticed my libido suffered, and I began getting mild erectile dysfunction. Over a few weekends, when I went to cookouts and stuff and was eating heavily, my libido would return and I was like a teenager again!

Cock rings definitely help with hardness....But if you are totally limp and can't "prime the pump" cockrings are pretty useless.

Sounds a bit like bro science but if you're a frequent masturbator (esp with porn), try laying off of it for a week or two. For some it's definitely a testament to willpower but alot seem to claim its more than placebo. What have you got to lose? If anything more people end up feeling more energetic and confident, two other possible factors.

Excellent point 7. I've read blogs about the effects of too much masterbation. Your body becomes accustomed to stroking versus penetration. I've also read about too much with toys like a fleshlight will make penetration less sensitive.

Loss of libido by the 3 men under age 21, all with improved health and lifestyles is unusual.
the sex drive is powered by testosterone, and your levels should be near their all time potency at this time of life. (Only during the surges of puberty does it tend to be higher). ED at 19 in a healthy male, appearing suddenly, is unusual, and other than unexplained hormonal drops, is generally due to psychological change, depression, stress, anxiety.

Really interesting... I'm finally practicing what I learned in class - I could have a deficiency in serotonin. Aside from a decline in sexual desire, I find myself often depressed (generally pessimistic and thinking low of myself) and very OCD.

Apparently, a big contributor to this deficiency is diet, which I drastically changed over the summer. But even that doesn't really add up for me... I changed my eating habits to include more fruits and veggies and those are good serotonergic foods. Perhaps it's just that I've been eating less of it... Or, peanut butter works against my serotonin levels, because I've been eating plenty of that!!

I don't know... Your post was thought-provoking to me. I'm trying to diagnose my own problems and I'm not even a professional. I suppose I'll have to talk to my doctor about this.

I'm in the same boat apart from I've had it on and off over the last year. I've finally made a doctors appointment after a year. I suggest you don't wait as long as I. Hopefully I shall get a clearer picture next week as honestly I've never felt better physically and mentally so God knows what's up with the ED issue.

Yeah, you've got something mental going on. You need to figure out what does it for you it sounds like. Feeling wise, as well as sexual act wise.
If you're completely active in your experience, you shouldn't have any issues.
I have had about the same problem. Not quite fully hard if I'm only 1/2way into it.

Before you do anything else my suggestion on this is to get in and have a physical examination with your MD. Dietary changes have a drastic effect on blood sugar and other hormone balances and blood sugar and hormone balances have a drastic effect on erectile capability. At 20 years old your hormone levels should still be high, but again this can be effected by dietary changes because certain nutrients are needed for hormone production.

In the long term getting weight within very reasonable limits is always the best thing, but the reason that many talk about going to your MD when you lose weight especially large numbers is that a great number of chemical changes take place during the process of weight loss.

There are elements of this that are what is commonly referred to as a "Catch 22" in that no matter which way you go, you lose something.

In the meanwhile, while all of this is under investigation there are good chances that an Rx for either Sildenafil Citrate or Tadalafil (Viagra/Cialis) will help you.

Major dieting really can screw up your chemical balances and this is normal. In a person aged between 18 and 25 ED is not very common and usually has a medical and not a psychological cause. Any MD who routinely treats ED and is current will tell you the same thing. The old "psychological" crap would tend to indicate an MD not current on their continuing education units in this area.

I am over 3 times your age and I live with ED on a daily basis and mine is severe enough to require injection therapy. If you are having major things going on that you are not aware of, some good bloodwork will give some answers. Don't take chances that can make something temporary transition to something permanent.

The main thing is to make certain that this is transient and something that will pass as you lose weight and in fact improve your health and life expectancy through fitness.

Just wondering if you're on any medication that can cause partial erectile dysfunction, and I ask because I am. ED can also be psychological, and I have also experienced that. Lots of stress isn't good for me when it comes to staying hard.

Me too. I'm on prozac but have found erections harder to maintain the last 2 months or so, for no reason I can work out. Kinda like my dick feels numb.

Might go to the Docs and have it checked out. Altho, last time I went I was worried by a lump on my balls (which was fine) - he's gna think it's just a ruse to get him to check out my junk, lmao. :S

I'm 18 and I found as my work life became stressed to the max and my diet changed and sleep habits same thing happened to me. However as things went back to "normal" so did my erections :)

Be aware of self diagnosis, not good.
See your Dr ASAP, males have a BAD habit of being ignorant macho' when it comes to our health issues.
(just humble yourself swallow your pride, and make an appt...)

My partner of 8yrs had the exact same problem, on Prozac J.
this was way back in 85/6, we never did anything for months, finally got him sorted, change of meds, and eventually off the stuff, with heaps of therapy as the alternative.
    geuss he was fortunate.
