Erection angle

I've noticed, mostly in porn, that more often than not if a guy is laying down and he has an erection, it lays flat against his body. Mine tend to stick up at an angle a little less than 90 degrees. I can force it flat against my torso, but it immediately pops back up into its attentive position.

The obvious disadvantage is that erections are hard to conceal (not that I have any need to conceal them). Yet I'm just average, so things could be worse... The survivalist in me wants to point out the obvious advantage for me is that I would make a much better sundial. :biggrin1:

So I have two questions:
When laying down, do your erections lay flat against your torso?
When standing, do your erections stick straight up or are they closer to a 90 degree angle from your body?

I obviously don't get as "firm" an erection as you guys.

The angle of my dick is dependant on what position I'm in. If I lie down, it sits on my stomach, or goes down the left (from my point of view) side of my abdomen, if I'm standing up it tends to sort of flap about infront of me, pointing lazily ahead, as if it can't quite be bothered to stand up.

Well, they stand out above my torso, but they're parallel to it.poining to my head. (The big head.) Think of an acceleration lane, parallel to but slightly separate from the main highway (The highway is my trunk, the acceleration lane is my cock.)

My erections stick pretty straight up. When I was a kid, teh head would touch my abs when I was standing. Now there's about an inch gap. But I'd call it "straight up."

(I'm 52...not that anyone asked...but definitely no kid, and for some reason folks are always surprised by how stiff and unmovable (and thick, too...) my dick is when I get hard.)

If I lie on my back, my erection lays flat against my belly, but not lazily, hard. If I take it and force it upward, it will slap my belly hard (not as hard as what b.c. describes, but similar). As you can see from my pics, I have to hold it so that it doesn't hug my belly.

Standing up, it is pretty much vertical (maybe an inch or so in front).

Before seeing pics of other people's penises and being on sites such as LPSG, I though that this "pointing upward when laying down" thing was a joke. My penis nevers sticks up when laying down, so I thought that this was just a fun story that people liked to make about erections. Now I realize that all erections are different.

mine hangs a little lower than perpendicular when standing. probably a 110 degree angle from my abs which makes it look like im only half-hard....but it doesnt really matter i guess...if i measure along the top like that i get like 8.5" so i pick it up to perpedicular wen measuring and get 8".....

I remember reading somewhere, in a man's body book or something of the like....the younger a dude is the greater the angle of erection...so a younger dudes erection points up higher then and older dudes....

I think that's probably true. My angle is definately not what it was although it still gets as hard.
Mine's never risen above the 90 degree mark...i've always tried to blame it on weight to make me feel better
