I strongly suspect this dude was just the rebound guy for Ethan. He needed to regain his self-confidence after Mark before getting out there back on the horse... or multiple in his case..

They've broken up in 2018/2019 and then reconclied, moved to Nashville right at the start of the Pandemic. Then they officially broke up. Ethan went back to his parents farm and Mark moved closer to his family and best friend. So, it's been over four years now. That's enough time. I understand why he was complaining the other day on twitter about how people are still holding on to a relationship that ended years ago.
