I was reticent to even pipe up on this one, as I have a considerable suspicion that the OP is a troll. That being said...

Hickboy is right...but even deeper than that, it's in human nature to fear/despise/ridicule qualities you percieve in others that you either fear are true about yourself, or that you know are true and despise.

Classic examples are the self-hating Jew archetype and the outspoken homophobes who secretly get off on gay sex (Rev. Ted Haggard anyone?). Think about the attitudes of reformed sinners who have "found the lord and been born again." Or the opinions of former smokers or former fat people. These are the people who will most often spout the most vitriolic opinions, because these are the demons that still haunt them.

It's a sad by-product of our culture's puritanical roots.
