Good questions! I’ve been away from the site for about a decade now. Was a fantastic adventure at the time. EL and us were never really rivals - we didn’t touch up our models like they did. We just wanted to make the porn we wanted to watch.

Porn and me didn’t really work out - so I left my chum to properly develop the site - and he was super successful!

We’d planned for this at the start, and part of the contract had a “buy back” feature - so that the models could have their films removed from the site if they wanted.

Quite a few did this (became police / joined the army / etc) - I cant say who - obviously! One guy messaged us after his film went live to say that he was underage and had faked his ID. We didn’t get the fee back on that one, and his film came down immediately!

There was one very sad time where we learned that a very new to the industry guy had contracted HIV (not on our site, as you know we were 100% condom). The guy’s mother was on the phone - very angry and upset - completely blaming us for getting him into the industry, and therefore his status.

Clearly a fit 20 bloke with a killer body and cock and an interest in porn is going to be having a lot of sex! We were very empathic, but didn’t feel responsible. I hope he’s well x

In the time since you left the site and the porn production world, social media must have changed the landscape beyond recognition, in both good and bad ways. Good in that guys who are confident enough can feel empowered to 'own' their porn careers and wear them almost as a badge of honour. Bad in that trolls can make less confident guys' lives a misery on Facebook and elsewhere, telling their friends, families and employers, if they didn't already know.

On a lighter note and echoing the enquiry of the poster above, yes, Jon Janes ... What was he like? Would be great to have news of what he's up to these days also. He seemed to just disappear from the scene, having been ubiquitous for a while. x.

Yes - we wanted to remove barriers to commit from the model point of view. I don’t know about other studios, but yes, it’s probably quite rare. You lose good stuff from your catalog that was expensive and hard work to make - and you can’t earn anything.
