My suspicion is that it's all tied together. I don't think the source is his feelings towards his dick size but I don't really know what the source of it all is. If I was going to put on my pop psychology hat on I would say that it's some kind of sense of inadequacy that manifests itself in presenting himself as a sexual superman. If I told you the number of women he's claimed to have sex with you'd laugh at the absurdity of it but I do know for a fact that he's had sex with a LOT of women. He also doesn't have much quality control so he seems far more interested in quantity.

The first time I ever heard that my buddy had a big dick was many many years ago. I was at an informal party and some girl that I had never seen before or since starts telling me he has a huge dick.
