Flex phoenix

Don't have photos, but there is small maze that is very dark, next to the maze is two hallways that play porn on the screen.

There is also an open room with a bed and benches around it.

Next to the maze is the entry, and locker room (very small) next to the locker room is a gym, but no one uses it.
there is another TV in the gym, next to the gym is like some computers and vending machine.

Next to that, is the steam room, its very dark blue in there, also there is a shower next to that.

I haven't seen a sauna.

Next to that is outside pool and patio.

There is a bunch of small rooms around the perimeter of the pool area.

I went once, and well I didn't care for it.

most of them were old and overweight (sorry to offend anyone)

I rarely saw any young fit guys there.

sorry, for the long delay.

The guy wasn't all that impressive, I think it had like two machine and a bench?

If you really want to workout get a day pass to the local Y.
The point of bathhouses has never been the gym.
Bars and bathhouses are gathering places meant for gays to socialize. It’s up to each gay man to decide for himself if he wants to drink alcohol at the bar or have sex at the bathhouse. Some of us just want to dance at the bar (assuming it has a dance floor), or workout at the bathhouse (assuming it has a gym).

The stated goal in your post wasn’t to socialize, it was about the gym and working out. If your singular goal is a gym, my point stands.
The bar analogy with dancing and drinking doesn’t work as an equivalent, in my opinion.
I’m 54 and have been to bathhouses across the globe, literally. I have rarely seen anyone use the gym for anything more than posing and preening.
You may be the exception that proves the rule. I belong to Gold’s. They are in most of the cities I travel to and my membership allows me to use the one where I am. I’m not a huge fan of Gold’s but they’ve spread like a cancer and are conveniently located.
Good luck and props to anyone working to improve his/her health. :)

Socialization is part and parcel of public activity, otherwise working out in my home gym would be sufficient, therefore you didn’t make a point, you just threw shade.

In my opinion, it does. The main draw of a bar is to drink alcohol. The main draw of a bathhouse is to have sex. I’ve gone to bars without drinking alcohol, and I’ve gone to bathhouses without having sex. Both gay establishments are for gays to socialize and use their own discretion regarding booze and sex.

Unless you’re there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, your observations of bathhouse gym activities are limited. Bathhouse gyms wouldn’t exist if gay men didn’t use them. That extra space could be used for other activities.

Commercial gyms are fine, but sometimes gay men just want to workout with other gay men, thus my reasoning for wanting a bathhouse gym status.

Good luck and props to anyone working to improve his/her health.

You too.:)

The reason for the gym is subterfuge. Those of us with a few grey hairs recall a time when gays weren’t accepted as they are today. The gym is at the front for a reason. It’s window dressing for what goes on in the back. That’s how it worked in those days. Join the “gym” meant something else entirely.

The reason for the bathhouse gym is to workout, otherwise it wouldn't be there. There are bathhouses that have gyms, and bathhouses that don't. It's your choice to either use the gym or not use it. It may be window dressing for you, but for others who actually use it, it's a welcome retreat from the hetero-dominated commercial gym.

My last post on this topic. It’s not about me and it’s not window dressing for me. It is what it is. Just my opinion. Go workout and leave. I t doesn’t matter what goes in the back. Talk to the management about gym updates and upgrades yourself. I could be wrong but think you’ll discover that they are reticent to pour money into that area.

If you can't locate pictures of the gym at Flex, have you thought of going to The Chute bath instead? Their website has a picture of the gym. Chute doesn't have a pool but since the gym is your priority, maybe that won't matter. Have fun wherever you end up.

You’re more than welcome to hold on to your original “commercial gyms are for working out, bathhouses are for sex” way of thinking. While you’re in the play area, doing whatever it is you want to do, I’ll be in the gym area, working out.

Enjoy.
