He could play an amazing Dorian Gray.

Or have their entire future careers be in possible jeopardy because the public knows who they are dating. LGBT celebs are forced to play a different game (even more so depending on their already established career/image).
Just want to be clear, they're not forced. It's their choice. Tough choice, but still a choice. There are a lot of out celebs who have careers. Like Brandon. I don't see these guys as victims, except of their own ambition. They want one thing more than they want another thing, that's all.

Yes, most are doing this because they choose to, and yes, it's their own ambitions that prioritize certain things over other things, like an out life. And no, I don't see most of them as victims either. But when I say 'forced', what I mean is most of these actors and actresses are playing by the rules of a game they didn't create themselves, and that most of their straight colleagues don't have to play in such a way (if not at all). And even then so, once you start getting into certain types of contractual obligations and even just certain types of contracts period, the ability to just do as you please and come out when you want really can become less and less of an option. Those are often more specific cases though.

Yes, there are more out actors as time goes on, but a lot of them still have to navigate a very different career path with still too often limited opportunities. I think it's easy to see the current landscape and think the old way is gone, but ask any serious industry professional, particularly in PR or representation or casting, and near all confirm that the industry attitude is that 'gay is still bad for business'...particularly for those pursuing the 'leading man/woman' path. There is more openness now in broadcasting personalities, tv hosts, comedians, and ensemble show parts...but leads are different. And that's what most are pursuing. Those that have defied such are still seen as the exception to the rule...not the new standard, sadly. I hope someday it all changes.
