Well to go down the line, Ryan had been doing this for years at this point an probably saw the catfisher as another fan he could control. Adam, i think just by the amount he sent and his previous actions, is just an exhibitionist. Ben was just a horny 20's year old. Kootra and Alec were former YouTubers who were single and enjoying the last of their fame before going back to their normal lives.
All things considered, that catfisher must have sent hundreds of messages to get those 5 and honestly, who would have thought two the most desired people in RT would have messaged back.
