Gay Celebrities in the Closet

The self hate is real. Wow. Truly Pathetic tbh. This is why the closet exists folks.
Pretty much.

As I've probably said before (and if I haven't here then I have elsewhere) that speculation is fine, as long as it doesn't end up rising to levels of actual stalking (see some of the Kaylor shippers or the Cumbercrazies / Jared and Jensen shippers). I flatly disagree with the idea that speculation and or wishful thinking is equivalent to outing someone, which is an argument I've seen.

My, what arrogance. Lol This is just delusional. You don't have special powers bud, get over yourself please. Plenty of gay and bi men exist that you could never clock.

When alleged gay men on this very website would rather see straight actors play gay. We have lots of work to do. What actor wants to come out just to be instantly disregarded by ignorant people? :emoji_rolling_eyes: Some of y'all don't even have support for your own community but then expect the straights to give it to us? Smh
Its worse when straight actors play gay and then get rewarded for it (Jared leto) or when you have shit like cmbyn (not gonna bother with that one here)

I respectfully disagree. I think it's a testimony to their acting ability to convince the audience that they were the character they were playing because they embodied the role so well. Many people, myself included, still think Timmy Chalamet might be secretly queer because he did so well as Elio in CMBYN. It should only be offensive when they are portraying us as stereotypes that are demeaning and untrue (i.e. being predatory or riddled with diseases, etc.). These things could very well give the wrong impression to masses of what queer people are actually like and make it harder for us to find acceptance in society. The same goes for actors who play characters that are autistic. As long as the character isn't being portrayed in a derogatory manner for jokes and laughs, it shouldn't matter if the actor playing them is actually autistic or not. And yes, I understand the argument that there aren't enough roles for queer actors because of Hollywood's hidden homophobia, so queer characters should at least be played by queer actors. But you're fighting for the wrong cause. We shouldn't be fighting for queer roles for queer actors, but any role that any actor (queer or not) has the God given talent to embody and convince as authentic. Once upon a time, only service roles like the maid or the bellhop could be played by Black and Brown actors because once upon a time, service positions were employed mainly by people of color. But if you think those actors enjoyed being the unappreciated side character whilst their White costars were being given the roles of aristocrats and entrepreneurs, you're wrong. Acting is just make believe. It's an entire career based on pretending to be someone you're not, not someone you are. Feel free to disagree, but these are my personal feelings on the matter. :emoji_shrug::emoji_kiss:

Tbh even twitter is fine. It's public, sure, but as long as you're not @ ing anyone or spamming fan hashtags or whatever I don't think it's an issue.

Well exactly. (I'm bi and autistic, so...)

My wish is that the actor is good the sexuality is very Secondary

I believe Chase is bi. When he came to Brazil he kissed a teenage singer at a party and was caught by photographers. Could you be a frame? I don't know, Manu Gavassi (The singer) revealed that they exchanged messages. Years later she revealed everything on the BBB (Bi Brother Brasil)
Comments like these amaze me. Gay celebrities don’t just get “caught” by the photographers. He could be bisexual or more likely he was doing it for publicity.

These kinds of comments and assumptions are unnecessary, and simply create more conflict than good fun discussion. This is a board very much rooted in gossip and rumors. It comes with the territory.

If anything is an illusion, it's only going on "talking mannerisms, gestures, nuances and mannerisms". Some of us actually try to use knowledge of how Hollywood works as a business. If you learn how the industry operates regarding sexuality, gender, race, etc., from industry professionals, particularly in PR, media, marketing, management, etc., you can learn how to filter through the various rumors and find out which ones have more possible validity to them vs others...particularly the long held patterns in how the industry operates regarding closeted celebs.
Your gay accusations that damage reputations are what's unnecessary and not for fun discussion.

Like it or not but a lot of gay movies starring full blown gay actors end up flopping. Most audience want to see their hot straight matinee idols get in some hot romping action with other dudes, not some queer guy throwing girly tantrums in a movie. Yes, I'm talking about Billy Eichner if you're wondering!

Comments like this just reek of internalized homophobia. The fact that it's 2023 and you're connecting being gay with having a damaged reputation is why so many people still choose to stay closeted, them being celebrities or not.

Having never watched a single episode of Gossip Girl or any of Chase Crawford's other shows, I had to Google the middle-aged actor to remind myself of what he looked like.

I have no idea as to his sexuality, but this post from 12 years ago has the BEST comments I've read in a long time, (It also shows how dreary, humorless and politicized comment sections are in 2023, but that is way off topic.)

Anyway, make of it what you will:
