I don't know if he was forced but according to an interview he gave, he had to be persuaded:

Matschenz: "Als mir die Rolle angeboten wurde, habe ich mich mit Christian getroffen und war extrem unsicher. Ich bin nicht unbedingt ein großer Freund von Nacktszenen. Ich hatte da eine furchtbar arrogante Haltung und habe vieles kritisiert.

In Englisch: "When I was offered the role, I met with Christian [Petzold, the director] and was very insecure. I am not a big fan of nude scenes. I had a very arrogant attitude and critizised a lot."

He then tells that the director sent him some of his films to show him how he handles nudity. In the end, they came to an agreement.

Thanks for sharing the article. It does indeed seem like Jacob was pressured to be completely naked in the film. It also seems logical to me that an actor wouldn't want to be completely naked on camera, knowing their penis would be in the picture. Incidentally, he did a nude scene later, but only with his butt.
Does anyone know if there are more articles where actors talk about their nude scenes?

love this thread. Shyness or prudishness doesn't seem to be an option when you're an actor in Germany.

Love german actors are not shy at all. Other european countries that do lot of male nudity are spain, Austria and Switzerland. Some countries are fustrating like Italy and Russia tends be more focused on female nudity so men are covered
