I don't understand why some people are so turned off by someone leaving their socks during sex. When I find myself having a sexual encounter, it usually starts with kissing, then caressing, then we start moving our hands under each other's under clothing, then clothing starts to come off. Shirts usually comes off first, then pants. Sometimes underwear comes off with the pants, sometimes its fun to leave them on for a bit--the anticipation helps build up the excitement. But the socks don't always come off. They don't need to come off, so we don't always get to them. In fact, pausing to take them off seems like an unnecessary interuption; it's almost a bit distracting.
As a general rule, I prefer to be barefoot--as soon as I come home after work, the shoes and socks come off--but I live in New England and it can get pretty chilly here (to put it mildly), so sometimes I (reluctantly) need to leave my socks on, even when I'm otherwise barely dressed. In the winter, I find regular socks aren't warm enough (I keep the house cool to conserve energy), so I wear thermal socks.
When I'm having sex, I don't feel any particular need to leave my socks on, but I sometimes do. It's not that I enjoy leaving them on, but as I said above I don't always bother to take them off. And if I'm having sex during cold weather, the heat of my passion is often enough to keep me warm...except for my feet. (I've got hardwood floors. Maybe I'd feel differently if they were carpeted.)
Also, although I like to see barefoot guys, I think guys in socks can look totally cute, especially little white socks. Sometimes I think white socks are to gay men what stockings and high heels are to straight men.
I like having an undershirt, t-shirt, or some type of top on... everything else off.
Socks?? BIIIIG turnoff. Creeps me out when I see it in porn.
No offense, b.c., but I think that wanting to leave a top on is stranger than leaving one's socks on. Having said that, I think it's fun and sexy to leave some clothing on once in a while, and I like to see pics of guys wearing a shirt, but no pants. I think I like the "shirt-no-pants" look because it's a reversal of what is culturally acceptable. In certain casual settings, its perfectally acceptable for a guy to be seen in public or on TV with an open shirt or with no shirt, but he must wear pants or shorts in order to prevent the genitals and buttocks from being exposed. For myself, I often sleep in a T-shirt with no bottoms, and if the weather is warm enough, I'll start the day off the same way...I won't put bottoms on until after my morning shower.
