Are the singlets that gymnasts wear the same as wrestler's?
I think it's hot that they wear singlets with the shorts over the top, usually showing some very good bulges, but you rarely see gymnasts in just the singlet. Anyone have any pics? Maybe I missed a posting already....

Thanks!

John Roethlisberger, Lance Ringnald and a few of the other gymnasts of yesteryear are ones who I would've loved to have seen in just those leotards/singlets.

Very rarely on NBC have they ever shown any male gymnast in just his leotard/singlet and it's usually very briefly whenever the camera lingers on them while they await their scores and they are changing into pants/shorts for their next routine.

For Team GB every item of clothing for every discipline has been individually designed and sculpted to suit the discipline. For 2012 these were done by Stella McCartney, the daughter of Sir Paul McCartney. Luckily they've been robust and done the job, unlike the old man's ropey performance at the opening ceremony.

Thanks and I agree it would be hot to see more of the guys in these leotards. Websites don't even show guys in them... they call them 'shirts' and I guess just those in the know realize that they are piece like they are.

Was a gymnast for 11 years... We called them leotards, not shirts.

But while they once forced us into the brief cut style like women wear (which could be annoying for the more well-endowed), most of U.S. higher level gymnasts switched over to a square cut more akin to a wrestling singlet, circa 2002.
