I was there with a group of 100+ doing a music festival- all straight except for one other couple and one pair of friends.
I can honestly say that we encountered zero problems! The staff was cool (some of them were clearly gay although they would never acknowledge or speak of it). As long as you’re on the property i can assure you that you will be completely safe and comfortable. I got some decent dick - in the grotto as well as in his room- from one of the two aforementioned friends. I actually met the minister of travel & leisure and spoke with him about this specific issue- he was very receptive and basically said that as more gays visit Jamaica as tourists and spend our good dollars that the backlash has been minimal in the major ports, and i didn’t have any issues when we went to the club in the closest town west mooreland - but my understanding from the staff and those I’ve spoken with since is that outside of hedo you’re going to need to be discreet to avoid drama. One friend had to change hotels because the cleaning staff noticed that the two men traveling together only slept in one bed and told the entire hotel staff which put them at risk of being assaulted or worse.
The beauty of hedo is that they simply don’t care- occasionally they even book events that are entirely lgbtq+ - I’ve even seen promos for events like this:
Bi-Week Total Takeover at Hedonism II, October 4-11, 2025
Some were exclusively gay as well.
I highly recommend it and I’m looking forward to my next trip there. If I could, I’d go a couple times a year. The food is excellent, the beach and the resort itself are fabulous, the “enhancements” are incredible (and dirt cheap) and the freedom is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before.
I’m available if you need a guide
