My only experience with Hippie Hollow is Splash, which is the big gay party during the summer. I always get a kick out of it when I go. =)
I've been a couple of times outside of the party too, but I am always wearing some kind of suit. Never been naked. Maybe I'll have to change that this year. =)

I have very good memories of Hippie Hollow, but all of them pre-1985. I can't imagine it could possibly be the same as in it's glory days. Around 1985 rich Frat boys and Sorority slags started showing up in their daddies' big boats, anchoring off shore to drink themselves stupid and harass the folks at Hippie Hollow with catcalls and training their binoculars on everyone.
Why is that? Assume he's talking about the gay people who go there.
Yes, there are gay people there, but they stay at the far end of the park. All the regulars hang out by the 2nd bathroom, with couples scattered around either side.
In my experience, there are TONS of couples and ladies at say, stairways 1-4.
And regarding another post, although I was a youngin pre-1985, I've heard that is when the state started running the park, so the park rangers were on patrol. Before that, lot's a craziness going on.
And yes, Splash Day goes on during Memorial and Labor Day weekend. Usually the only complaint I have is the music is too loud and I want to mellow out. But otherwise, I don't mind. The funny thing is the people there for Spalsh Day are the only ones with their clothes on!
As far as negative stuff, the Mexican dudes (sorry Latinos but they are always Mexican dudes) that walk around with their clothes on (fucking jeans and button up shirts at a lake!) and leave their beer cans everywhere.
But otherwise, wife and I love it. I'll be hung over on Sunday, and she'll still want to drag me out there. Gotta love a wifey whose favorite thing is getting butt-naked on the weekends.
Any other couples that go there on this board?

I assumed he was talking about the physical attractiveness (or possibly lack thereof) of the people there. I haven't been there yet myself but I have been to nudist events. Thing is, the people who go to them are not usually "hotties". They are average looking people with average looking bodies, for the most part. As far as degrees of physical attractiveness, they range at nudist resorts just like they range anywhere else. Interestingly, at the few nudist events I went to, I was considered to be one of the most attractive women there - and I certainly don't consider myself to be a "hottie"! (I consider myself to be in the average range)...
My mistake, that does seem to be what he was talking about.
As far as the attractiveness part, it does run the gambit. Younger, older (TENDS to be an at least over 30 crowd) bigger, smaller. But that being said, I have seen a lot of gorgeous women there.
So yes, of course, it's the bell curve of attractiveness there, just like anywhere else, except naked. It's not a super model, porn star fantasy land..
But for this topic of this group, for my wife's eye candy, sitings of well-hung men are few and far between.
But then again, we are a married couple and go there to spend time with each other - relaxing, drinking, picnic, all butt-naked. Can't think of a better way to spend the weekend with someone you love.
We do know people there, and enjoy their company, but ultimately it is about the time together.
Thanks for people responding to this post. The thing about Hippie Hollow is the people who go there love it, but people who don't have some negative misconceptions.

I haven't been to Hippie Hollow yet but may get there this spring or summer. I don't live too far away...
I haven't been to an actual nudist resort or park, just a few nude hot-tub parties. At those it was like you said, mostly an over-30 crowd, and mostly average-looking.
A lot of people have misconceptions about nudist resorts - they think there are all these orgies going on there (not that there's anything wrong with that! :biggrin1
, but it's just like going to a park, or in the case of the hot-tub parties I went to, like going to a party, just that you're not wearing clothes.I go out to Hippie Hollow on weekdays as often as I can. Normally I would be out there today. But my parents are in town visiting this week. And I have my time of the month right now. I am just not in the mood to have to do the tampon thing.

I love going out to Hippie Hollow. It is one of the nicest places on earth. I have a lot of good friends that I enjoy sitting out there and talking with. There is a nice paved road that is marked off so it is easy to keep up with how many miles one walks if one would like to walk for exercise. Swimming in the nude is great exercise when the water temperature gets up.
There really isn't any place I would rather be when the kids are in school.
My spouse doesn't usually go out there with me that much because when he isn't working long hours......he enjoys spending time and doing stuff with our kids. (No one under 18 can go to Hippie Hollow because some politician used it as a political platform back in 1996 to get Hippie Hollow closed to anyone under 18 years of age.) I enjoy doing the family stuff too, so I don't get out to Hippie Hollow that much on the weekends myself. Every once in a while I drop out there for a bit.
When we have the kids with us we usually go to family friendly nudist clubs. It is a lot nicer than having to pay a babysitter.

Haven't been there in a while. Heard the lake was pretty low due to the serious drought last summer.
I was in Austin about 15 years ago on business and went. A few memories- always put sun screen ALL over, I fell asleep on a rock, face down,, the reflection of the water caused a long thin sunburn down the side of my body (boxers were hell the next day).
