Hostel wanking

There are bathroom on every floor. The ones on the top floors seemed to be identical to each other, at least on floors 2-4 that I checked.. urinals immediately after entrance on the left, sinks and changing cubicles after that.. toilet cubicles around the corner and shower cubicles on their separate side.. doors and walls that conceal everything so it’s a bit hit and miss.. better fit Grindr hookups as you have more freedom inside the cubicle I’d say..

The basement is the largest one for sure, and most open space.. but yes, must guys, specifically younger, will go to their showers in full clothing or minimum underwear, which they remove while inside. And they put at least boxers on while behind the curtain. You can see how the boxers often get wet stains on them as they were put in while he was still wet.. I don’t understand this level of shyness, but then again I’m from Finland and used to nudity in public spaces..
Thanks! I'll stick to the basement ones and whatever floor my dorm ends up being on. Might seem a bit strange if I spend my whole stay going in and out of all the toilets & showers :joy:

People in this country make me laugh with how prudish they are. I go swimming and gym a lot and the amount of guys you see in the changing rooms desperately trying to keep their towel around them while they struggle to get their boxers on is hilarious. Just why?! This country is so backwards with nudity.

How is the Generator in Barcelona or Amsterdam?

And also the ones in Barcelona Eixample area? like Safe Stay passeig de gracia, Don Moustache, Fabrizzio's petit, Meeting point etc.?

Does Generator in London have toilets & showers on every floor? I know the basement ones well and remember also using ones on my floor when I've stayed there in the past but can't remember where. If so, which ones are best/busiest besides the basement ones? I'm not really looking to cruise, just relax and enjoy the environment!
Showers from floors 2 or higher you’ll unlikely see anyone naked. Besides me I saw only two other guys fully undress before closing the stalls. One of then I met right by the sinks and we ended up chatting - we both got naked and ended up showering with open doors which was cool.
At the basement showers you have a higher chance of seeing naked dudes, but not a lot. As mentioned in a prior comment, most dudes are young and will go to the showers in underwear and get dressed before leaving them. I’ve seen only 3 dudes (excl myself) undress by the bench and walk fully naked to the showers. One of then barely closed the curtains. You’ll notice the stalls are very small and curtains keep sticking on you.

Thanks! I'm familiar with the basement showers and remember using some on another floor one time I stayed but those were always empty when I went in. I was wondering if any particular floors are busier than others but maybe it's a game of luck. We'll see

I'm not really going to be cruising, more enjoying the environment and if anything happens it happens! :joy: If I was straight up cruising I'd hit up a gym or even sauna.

I'll be "checking into" Generator on the 19th! I'm actually staying at YHA Earl's Court. Depending how long I hang around Generator I'll either tube or uber back to YHA. Such a weird thing to do (even by my standards) but I just can't take the risk of being in a mixed dorm :dizzy: :joy:

Well, Maspalomas in Gran Canaria is very open… the beaches the dunes, the hotels… basically everywhere lol
Thanks! I've been there already and had a great time in the dunes... I'm just trying to figure out if there are any fun hostels there (or some of the other islands) as I find that specific situation very exciting.

It's interesting that's your experience in Brighton (I'm guessing). It's definitely NOT my experience in London, where people in any gyms I have used across the city are not shy to get naked. Not necessarily in any sexual way, just in a practical way. But then London is not representative of the rest of the country anyway, thankfully. Maybe people in smaller towns are more backwards.

It's overdone some places I've been to in London. Oasis for example - those changing rooms are an absolute sausage fest but it was all far too "obvious" if that makes sense? You undress and suddenly you've got a bunch of guys staring at your crotch like they haven't eaten for a month. The London "gym scene" from what I've experienced is very cruisy and not subtle at all :joy: I also fell out of love with the Nuffield gyms because guys just turn up and feel like they're entitled to indiscreetly cruise. There's no art to it. No build up

The only place I've ever experienced "natural" nudity in London is Docklands Spa. All the gays hate it there because they kick people out for cruising - meaning you can actually enjoy a proper all male naked atmosphere. The air is full of testosterone and there's just this really unique atmosphere that I love :imp: If you can recommend more places with that non cruisy but yes to nudity vibe I'd be forever grateful

Yeah the other floors are all the same (4 stalls per floor). Only in the last floor the stalls provide full privacy since they don’t have those gaps that stalls usually have between the door and the floor.
Also with you: nothing beats male dorms. I always end up making friends with the roommates but also just easier to get changed etc…
I stayed in the YHA Central as well.

Yep showers on every floor except top. I’ve seen cruising on other levels, not just basement

Is it possible to maybe go to Generator to just use showers? Like do you need access or keycards or anything to get passed reception?

The front door is open during the day, so you can just walk in and take the stairs down, which are directly in front of you (on the right) at the entrance..

You need a key card to enter after nightfall though..

It's a hostel, not a Starbucks. Nobody else find it creepy the idea of people not staying in the hostel accessing the accomodation areas? Pop to the bar yeah but you do know it's gonna look super obvious on the CCTV when you walk in straight to the shower then out? I'm all for having fun while staying in a hostel, but people are just trying to have a place to sleep and shower so shouldn't have the danger of those not logged as staying in the hostel roaming the corridors imo.

As long as nobody is acting in a predatory manor or stealing anything, those are my lines alongside not wanting to make anyone feel uncomfortable. what difference does it really make? Chill man, let people enjoy what they enjoy!

Guys from Australia wouldn’t be putting on much of a show. Most football showers are cubicles now in Oz .
Plus they are required to wear shorts in the most of the open showers.
