No, the dimensions don't change but the width of the colour lines will sometimes deviate which bugs the hell out of me. I prefer to use color to make the electrical/plumbing more user friendly to the client but i'll resort to black and white plans if I absolutely must.

I generally use specific output generators in my CAD/EDA systems that produce hierarchical .pdfs from the structure itself. turns out to be incredibly handy. That said, I have had a number of issues with the print output converters that essentially pdf the output stream. In those instances, usually some experimentation with the available printer languages that it will be converting yields some better results.

Here's a tangential story, but you may enjoy the ensuing conversation. A friend of mine had to reinstall Windows XP because he was getting the BSOD upon booting (even when booting into Safe Mode).

I was talking him through it this evening (mostly for moral support; he knew how to do it on his own -- but we had to delete some registry keys at one point) -- and had this conversation towards the very end of the process:

(23:00:59) Steve: "Backing up registry"
(23:01:44) mindseye: Okay. (Back it up NOW after we had to go in and tweak it!)
(23:02:15) Steve: It is backing it up, but where will it PUT it? (And will it be able to FIND it later? )

(23:03:52) mindseye: Maybe by "backing it up", they simply mean "rearranging it in reverse order".
