Well for starters Ryan is underage so...
I first noticed it on FB that ME men, fans of bodybuilding have some kind of homoerotic form of communiction with bodybuilders where they use emoticons that suggest sexual desire or sexual admiration, but the languge is accepted and normal.
Later I learnt that prior to islamic invasion Middle Eastern countries always had a long and accepted homoerotic culture that hasn't been fully erased by islam so things like flirting or being very intimtely close to a man are normal and society while knowing what goes on they turn a blind eye as long as both men act masculine and discrete.
So, given the threat that islam is for homosexual men, bodybuilding (just like it once was for western gay men although still is to some extent) works as a safe space for men to experience and release same-sex desire masked as love for the "sport".
