Last night I hooked up with a guy. We were on my couch making out and feeling each other up.he was a really good kisser and I was super horned up. I unbottoned my jeans, pulled them and my underwear down to set my dick free. When the guy reached over and started stroking my rock hard cock he said, "Damn dude. You've got a nice boner!"

I may use "boner" every once in a while but mostly say hardon. When commenting on a pic on LPSG, for example, I may say "Nice [fill in the blank with hardon, woody, wood, boner, bone]." But context is important and in this context I wouldn't have used boner. If I was impressed or excited over a guy's erection I probably would have said "Nice cock" or maybe "I like your hardon."

So for straight, bi and gay guys:
1) What term do you generally use for erection?
2) Do you use boner?

And for bi and gay guys:
When you're getting it on with a guy and first see his hard cock...
3) Do you ever compliment a guy on his erection?
4) If so, what do you generally say?

As a Bi man I would compliment a guy on his erection and generally would say what a HUGE COCK!! Do not mix what your partner said and the fun you two were having with over thinking the words that he used!!

I don't think I am over thinking, it just kind of hit me when he said it and I was curious.

He was a nice guy and we had great sexual chemistry. I fucked him in the living room... that's where the boner word popped out... no pun intended, lol. I invited him to sleepover and fucked him again in the middle of the night. We got up this morning, ate a little breakfast and I fucked him again while we were showering together. We had fun! :)

1.) I dont think i every really refer to my erection in regular conversation so its hard to think of a term i use. closest thing id say is H'ed or hard/stiff. "She got me H'ed" could be an example of how its used.

2.) i never really thought it was dated but now that i think of it ive never used the term boner before. seems more like and elementary term people would use to get laughs like the the Simpsons when bart had the mind reading powers in one of the Halloween episodes

Funny thing, but if you go back far enough it actually did mean "a joke" or something. I bought this for the title years ago at a flea market:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pocket_Book_of_Boners

On a side note - It's fascinating how horrible some of the popular comic strip humor was back in the day. If I'm remembering right, this was up there with "Bazooka Joe". o_O

lol... for my father's WWII generation a "boner" meant a baseball error... for my baby boom generation it meant an erection...

Boner sounds adolescent to me. I don't use it. Cock is my preferred term. If I compliment someone I usually say "nice cock."

I didn't necessarily mean it meant I joke I meant more that it would be a word that would make people laugh

But I get what you were saying i know I meant that as well. Think Bazooka Joe is before my time never seen any of them like I know what it is but I don't think I've ever had the gum

You're not missing anything. ;)

I barely know what it is and have only seen a few of the comics, but it was that type of stuff that's so simple and not funny that you have to get somebody else to explain to you what the punchline was, then you're usually disappointed. Looks like that Seuss book actually goes way back to the 30's and Bazooka Joe doesn't show up until the 50's.

Take Care

I use hard-on, or "I'm hard," or something like that. "Boner" seems outdated and more of a joking term, like a bunch of guys joking around and someone says something like "Joe was so fuckin' horney over that '85 Firebird he popped a fuckin' boner!"

I'm straight and, since English is not my first language, I'd probably use "hard cock", that's the closest I can get translating.

Boner is for when you're trying to communicate the situation in a humorous context.

I don't think it's outdated, but it's a silly word, not a sexy one.
Agreed! I would never say I have a boner, but I remember during the olympics saying .. that guy has a boner! Hard on wouldn't be right in that context! He had a boner!

Boner makes me laugh. Hard on, woody, big hard cock are all terms I use instead. I will use boner only if I'm making a joke, for comedic effect.

I think an old, possibly archaic, by this point, meaning for boner was "mistake," "error," etc.

As in, "Fly ball to far right field! Aaaannnd, Lefty Coogan is at the wall . . .he's under it and he drops it! Another boner by Lefty Coogan!"
