As a teacher, I absolutely disagree.
I'm not taking it seriously. Just making fun of those weird lines.
I'm pretty sure it's just something they wrote for his character (I doubt his real name is Tom or he's actually a high school teacher who gets boner in class).
Also, high school teachers are adults apart from being human, they're not going through puberty to get random boners out of their control. And if they're excited while being surrounded by underage humans to get it up, that's actually concerning or at the very least inappropriate.
