Ok so I'm 22 and ever since getting out of high school I'm always awkward around straight guys. I'm guessing since being gay isn't as accepted here as some places and having to deal with a lot of asshole straight guys making fun of me everyday for years or what. Now that all that is over however I find myself always being so awkward around any straight guy even my friends. It's so hard to try and get to know and make new friends because of this. Has anyone else dealt with something similar to this, or think of anything I could do to try and fix the situation.

I can't relate because I'm a straight guy (despite blowing a guy once) but I'd say you could just stop formulating the idea that they may treat you the same as other straight guys have. Maybe it's just you past experiences with straight guys that create this feeling towards other straight guys.

Maybe you’re hanging out with the wrong people? Most guys are straight and (contrary to some opinion) most aren’t assholes. You should broaden your social circle.

Are you out around these straight guys? If you’re out and happy, most people don’t care about your sexuality. I was called names a lot in school as well. I’ve always found that being happy with yourself is the best revenge—as so few bullies are.

If you feel awkward around st8 men... then you need to build a strong network of gay friends to rely upon. You can do that through gay dating sites. There is something known as: "Meet up" it targets specific types of interest including gay friends.

I suggest you find some other hang out places...check out the University areas closet to you.. find some social media friends...and like magic..one day you will be a guy with great confindence....and sex appeal. If you were closer....I have always found cuddling a masterful way to gaining oneself through touch by another. Cum on over...I'm ready.
