I LOVE the original Scream, like one of my fav movies ever. And I thought Scary Movie 1 was a pretty good parody. I quite liked SM2 as well. 3 & 4 were a noticeable step down in writing quality compared to the first two imo. But still gave me a few decent laughs. I think 3 is also where it transitioned from primarily parodying horror to just a ton of random pop culture that had nothing to do with horror. I did not even watch 5 and will probably watch 6 which seem to extend that further

There's a new 4K version available digitally. It's still kind of gauzy and glowy, but the colors aren't as sickly yellow and the contrast isn't so blown-out.

Scream 4 has my favorite Ghostface mastermind, so it’s definitely my second favorite behind the original classic.

I didn’t mind Scream 7 (I actually quite liked the Ghostface motive there even if it’s similar to Richie and Amber’s), but it’s still behind 5 and 6 for me.
