A little more context in case anyone's interested: acting contracts include requirements for promotion of the project (even things like "you agree to post at least 3 times to social media during release week" etc). While the exposure also benefits the actor, it's still considered work on behalf of the studio, which they can't do while striking.
The only promo we're going to see for a while will be for projects which were granted interim agreements from SAG & WGA. Interim agreements are granted to studios (almost all of them Indie) that agree to what the unions are asking for. A24 is a good example, their stuff is still in production. The great irony (Adam Driver pointed this out at Venice Film Festival this week in a firey moment during a press conference) is that a bunch of indie studios, which don't have huge budgets, have no problem with paying (or being able to) artists living wages and providing benefits and protections, but multibillion dollar studios and streamers with CEOs that make $35+ million a year are saying they can't afford it.
ANYWAY I'm intrigued as fuck about Saltburn simply because up to this point everything Emerald Fennel does is superb. Promising Young Woman left a permanant mark on my brain. It's be great to see Jacob hold his own in an ensemble of heavy hitting actors.
