Jakes had an identity crisis. He started out as a rapper and someone made him think he had the talent to sing and become the next bieber. His voice isn't that great and his music isn't that good. He has no real identity and has no real direction. Hes been independent and with warner bros and still couldn't get a mainstream hit.

And to the person who said jake has a better voice than nick jonas...get your ears checked. You are beyond dilusional. Nick could out sing jake miller any day of the week.

Lastly, this is just my opinion, but jake doesn't seem to be very "gay" friendly. He certainly doesn't go out of his way to be an ally. He has no interest in "teasing" us because, in my opinion, we are a market he isn't interested in. I can't recall ever seeing anything pro lgbt from him or any kind of comment on pride etc.

His fans will get tired and move on. It's just a fact.

That’s kind of an extreme take. Not everyone “makes it” but people are definitely losing interest. 2 years ago he had over a million Instagram followers. Now he’s under 900k.

He seems kinda unaware too regarding his success. Just constantly cranking out the same music with no rebranding / change to his image or sound as he loses 100K+ followers. I agree with the above poster about totally disregarding gay fans as an audience; he seems pretty content just making music for the young girls that seem to be in his fan base. (Of course none of his know him so this is all speculation)

The post in 2012 didn't need the "no I'm not gay... ask my girlfriend" explanation. His heterosexuality didn't need defending.

I don't think he is real gay friendly. I've met him and, he was definitely uncomfortable that I was drooling when I hugged him just kidding but, I did get some vibes from him that he was a little uncomfortable with some of the dudes going up to take pictures with him. I've seen him do lives where he avoids questions people ask. It's possible it's because he gets asked so much. I don't think he's homophobic but I also don't think he cares too much either. Suspect he only did the pride fest because he got paid. Could be wrong. Hope I am.

Maybe he is/I hope he is. I'm just speaking to my experience with him in person and online. I don't really keep up with twitter so hadn't seen most of those. Again I don't think he's homophobic I just don't think he cares. Just my take.
